Return of the OrangeMEN

If you're like me, you get queasy when you have to refer to Syracuse as "The Orange." I graduated in 1997, and though I did cheer, "Let's Go Orange," the team was always the Orangemen, or Orangewomen. Nonetheless, years after I left, the new Chancellor wanted to make the team names less "sexist" and more "unified," so we're now "The Orange." Or are we? The SU Athletics department quietly has begun to sell Orangemen and Orangewomen teeshirts. No doubt, they're testing the marketability of those names, vs. "The Orange." Dr. Gross, the AD, has stressed a link to tradition. If we're ever to fully realize that, the name must be returned to its rightful form. You can help by purchasing an "Orangemen" or "Orangewomen" teeshirt today. I just got mine, and I'm wearing it with pride!
