CONTRACT YEAR = STEROIDS TO PAT BURRELL

They must be putting something in Pat Burrell's Skoal. In a miraculous 5-3 win over the Reds Burrell bagged two homers and 3 RBI. One wonders if the fog that glazes over Pat's vacuous eyes as he watches steerikkke threeee!!! has lifted for good. Hamels had a nice outing and Trash Gordon didn't blow the game for Lidge. What a shame Manuel forgot we acquired Lidge in the 3-4 loss Saturday or maybe we'd have won that game, too. Shane Victorino continues to stink, perhaps in an attempt to become the new Pat Burrell. Ryan Howard added a hit, a run, and three spectacular strike outs to his stats.

Lmao @ that picture. Victorino is slumping but he'll be fine...

Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but Burrell always has great Aprils and slumps in May and June... Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself AGAIN.

I'd like to see Taguchi get some time in center with Victorino back in right rotating with Jenkins.Werth did a nice job as a defensive replacement/starter for Burrell and it'll come in handy if Pat reverts back to his old self.

I have faith in Victorino, his speed and energy is unmatched for us. Taguchi seems better in a reserve slot, but maybe Vicy does need to sit a few games if he keeps hitting like he is. I think he's more of an everday starter than Taguchi.

His defense has been great thus far though.

Supposedly Taguchi is a great contact hitter. He's definitely a bench guy but I wouldn't mind mixing him in with Victorino untill Shane figures out what's up with his bat.In no way do I mean to imply I've given up on Victorino but he has got to come around at the plate or we'll be missing Rowand again.
