The wisdom of Charlie Manuel

He was not a popular choice when he was hired as the Phillies manager in 2005. To those who do not know him, Charlie Manuel's West Virginia drawl and folksy, rambling delivery suggest a bumpkin, perhaps even a dim bulb.
