ND loses QB Demetrius Jones, who is transferring to N. Illinois

Former starting QB Demetrius Jones is transferring from Notre Dame to Northern Illinois after losing his job to freshman Jimmy Clausen. Jones started the Irish's opener against Georgia Tech, but was replaced early after leading the Irish to 0 first downs and having two fumbles. He'll have to sit out a year, but with Clausen taking over the starting duties as a freshman, it seems that there won't be any starting opportunities anytime soon at ND.
