Writing Pet Classifieds Ads

Fifty years ago, it would have been difficult to imagine that you can buy, sell, trade and list pets online (http://classifieds.ozfreeonline.com/). Today, however, a lot of consumers and pet lovers are more open to the idea. Free classified ads sites often have an entire section on just pets.

Some have used this channel to find a good home for their own pets, others use it to offer stud services for champion breeds, and there are those who use it to sell livestock and other animals. Pet food and other pet-related products are also well-searched for on both classifieds sections of print media and the web.

If you are creating an ad to buy, sell or trade your pet, you need to include the following:
• Age of the animal – This is always good to include as most people prefer to get a pet when they are still young and easy to train
• Papers – This is for the benefit of breeders as well as those who groom pets for shows. It is also often more expensive to buy a pet with papers.
• Color – Be specific with color as these affect the decision of some people who buy pets to cross breed with their existing ones.
• Breed – Don’t simply say that you are selling a dog, you also need to include what kind of dog you are selling. Is it a pug? A Labrador? A Golden Retriever?
• Male or Female – include the gender of the pet as this is also an important consideration for potential buyers. With some pets, the gender also affects the pricing.
• Additional information – Make sure you also indicate any personal preferences you have for your pet or any additional information that may affect your pet’s well-being. This can include the type of food and grooming requirements.

While words definitely impact the way your pet sells, pictures can make a huge difference. Here’s where the beauty of online classified postings comes in, these sites often allow you to upload as many pictures as you like. If you want to find someone who will love your pet as much as you do, then say it with photos. Upload several which show your pet in different angles, and maybe even different moods.
