Adulation Uncalled For...Varitek
How or why do Boston fans continue to elevate this player to the status of superstar I just plain do not understand. He pretends to be a switch hitter - it's clear he's really righthanded - but can't hit siimply put - and from either side to boot; he can't and doesn't throw runners out because of his 3/4 delivery; hits a miniscule # of homers for a player of his size; but....oh my, does he "handle" pitchers!!! Must be that every pitcher mistake belongs to the pitcher but all of the victories are due to Varitek....???!!!
Cut him loose and save his salary; he doesn't earn it anyway.
