Bill Lee talks turkey about Manny Ramirez, Pete Rose, and the possible October of Red Sox Nation's discontent

When I was approached with the opportunity to talk to Bill "The Spaceman" Lee I was posed with both a thrill and a challenge. What do you ask a notorious talker who's already answered everything under the sun? Luckily, he is also as easy-going and engrossing as he is reputed to be.

What I didn't realize beforehand was how difficult it would be to take notes. Lee's half of the conversation is so blithely hilarious--beginning from the moment he answered his phone in french-- that I ended up laughing more than typing. Whether it be about steroids or tom turkeys, there wasn't a sentence out of the Red Sox Hall of Fame pitcher's mouth that didn't want to divaricate into 10 different directions.
