RAIDERS FIX 3 THINGS AND THEY WILL BE IN THE HUNT NEXT YEAR...
IN ORDER:
1. QUARTERBACK - Jamarcus is not the immediate answer--for whatever reason. Want to keep him, fine. He's a backup, learning.
2. OFFENSIVE LINEMEN - Have to keep the best and refill the rest. And make sure if right handed quarterback--the left tackle gets all the money he needs to sign.
3. NEW COACH - Cable just ain't it. Doesn't have "it". Too easily distracted from business at hand and prone to get tangled up in football unrelated crap. SUGGESTION: an Offensive Coordinator who has been successful in a Super Bowl in the last 3 years. 'LOVE to see Dennis Green here--IF an experienced Super Bowl Offensive Coordinator is not available. Any available?
Looks like Raiders will have decent picks this coming year, per record... SUGGESTION: GO AFTER OFFENSIVE LINE.... any number of experienced quarterbacks can be successful with a good line--and they are out there. Hell, even Jamarcus might work with some bad-ass protectors. But methinks another direction needs to be tried at the beginning of next year.

How about Michael `Tricky` Vick at QB. He could teach Russell and maybe get him a gig financing rooster fights.

Whatever he has been in the past, and his achievements are legendary, Al simply has to realize what most of the other owners already know, that the best coaches work the best when left alone. It`s a primary reason why those teams whose owners do interfere with their head coaches (Oakland, Washington, Dallas), have field generals who have less than wonderful records.
If I were Al, I think I might dangle some really decent money and the chance for `revenge` against Denver, in Mike Shanahan`s face and really try to get him. Hard as it may be for me, I`d divorce myself from the day-to-day field level decision making process.
