"DALLAS COWBOYS LEAD NFC EAST!!!!!"

The emergence of the Dallas Cowboys as leaders of the NFC East is no surprise to many fans such as myself. Slowly but surly Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett are maturing to the way things happen in the Beast. The execution of successful game planning is in large part a major reason, but more importantly the added tangible of mental toughness exhibited by Tony Romo bares noting.

I distinctly remember BowlBound, SportSnorts, myself and other Cowboys fans discussing needed maturity of Tony Romo on a consistent basis. A major correction that's need to turn around his propensity to get in front of cameras and say all the right things but having nothing to show for it. Now we are seeing Tony Romo is walking his talk.

I'm beginning to see a swagger on defense after stumbling out of the gate, spilling over onto special teams, offense and the coaching staff as well. I'm happy to see the weak areas of the team shoring up recently. Specifically, defensive backfield, offensive pass blocking, and special teams. Still not where we want to be, but vastly improved all the same. Kudos coach Campo, coach Houck, and coach DeCamilis.

Finally, plugging in Miles Austin, Tashard Choice, with a strong special teams game plan, has been a boon in winning four straight games at this point in the season. Last but not least. I have to give a big "KUDOS" to Jerry Jones for not derailing the team from within, by staying out of the way. Maybe, Wade's calm demeanor is winning Jerry over by separating his inclination for marketing stunts from distracting the team. Who knows? I can only hope it holds up. So far so good. "GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!"

It is kind of nice to be there, especially with all of the "nobodies" that some certain people said we had, like Miles Austin, Victor "Big Sack Against McNabb" Butler, Ogletree and no T.O. We have more passing TD's and yards without T.O. How about that one? Even with limited production from Roy Williams, it's still getting done. Leadership is evident on both sides of the ball now and I think that just may change things for the Boys in December where they have lacked the leadership to get it done. How may different receivers caught passes against the Eagles? All I heard was everyone was going to double-team Witten, take him out of the game and there would be nobody else to throw to. Well, that prophecy hasn't come true, has it? It will be an interesting second half now. The Eagles have a few road games coming up and we all know how hard it is to win on the road in the NFL. I don't think that 12-4 is going to happen now. Let's keep rolling.

Hey Bowl, don't forget Ms. 19-0 soon to be Ms. 15-4. "YEAH",.....all that not being better than the Eagles after the draft kind of talk too, lest we forget that as well. What's up with that? A whole lot of that noise got kilt Sunday.

Congrats to the cowboys on the win BTW,

Robbo.... I know I said this before but... "Hi my name's Robbo. I use big words quite often in substitution for semantically equivalent words."

No hate here, just saying, it's funny! :)

But just remember what happened one week after you posted that Tony Romo was the best QB in the NFL.... You guys are only up by 1 game, and we have the better divisonal record. Things will most likely change before the end of the season.

Cowboys have a moderatly difficult schedule left this year, playing 5 teams out of 8 that have above a .500 record or better. Whereas the Eagles have 7 out of 8 that are .500 or better. So, we will see who is best in the east comming up.

Giants beat you, we beat the Giants, you beat us. It's a see-saw man. It's gonna be one hell of a ride the last half of the season!
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Cool, Sweez none taken,....... I also responded by saying, "just using an extensive vocabulary to make points".

It's all good big guy,....... We go through this every year. Our teams are up and down thru the season just part of the game. Right now we are basking with our momentum shift at the moment. True enough we'll hit a wall somewhere along the line, but I am confident that "The Boys" will work through. Like I said in the article, so far so good.

To preface your comment on our future opponent's records. They have their issues as well. It's rough out here in the big bad NFL. Got to suck it up and let it do what it do baby.

      BRINKSTER said 4 days ago

No way khollen, we are going to smoke them--I'm not even worried. Tony Romo and their offense will struggle while our's will be lights out! Eagles win 34-13 and the Cowgirls score their only TD late in the 4th against our second string.

  • No doubt the Eagles could use some good fortune. Tough schedule coming up doesn't excite me. Linebackers and Cornerbacks are dropping left and right. Still waiting for the Oline to get healthy and perform. This season could become a disaster really quick. We need to weather the injury storm once again and then finish strong if we are going to make the playoffs.

      Placard_complete_small
Yeah it is!!!!,..... Looks like Roy was right, Tony Romo placed the ball where it needed to be on that pass at that time. That secondary got burnt bad and again nothing from ESPN to point out those facts. Their shifting their interest now to other big market sports teams.

I'm not going to let it go though. The Eagles got beat by a superior Cowboys team despite the referee's trying to muck it up with controversy. As usual,......

  • MONSTER

    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Actually I would give more reps to Pat McQuistian, Montrae Hollins, on the o-line. Micheal Hamlin, Victor Butler on defense.

I would stack the deck with my TE's with the FB as well then screen it to Marcellus to the weak side at first. Then mix it up with Marion Barber, Felix Jones on lead draws. When the LB's get on there heels Jason Witten on the seem route to loosen up the SS/FS'. Then over the top to Miles.
  • MONSTER
sounds good but the redhead might not do that, what is his deal with not running screens?
    • Robbo24

    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
When you have Barber and one-yard to go, what call would anyone make besides Garrett? That's just total BS.
  • MONSTER
imagine if jason garrett played madden,he would be a pass happy mofo
  • MONSTER
i think its cause he was a BACKUP qb,so now all he wants to do is live through romo and pass pass pass lol
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Something is wrong with him, because he keeps trying to pass on the five yard line and closer on every down. Now most people would know that if at first you don't succeed. Give it to Marion Barber.

He did the wildcat with Tashard Choice last week I thought he learned his lesson. I guess old habits are hard to break. Specially when Jason is under heavy pressure on a three possession deficit with the clock against him.

      Jason Garrett needs to:

    • Canuck
      Placard_complete_small
I agree but their running game was not effective yesterday
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
Yes, but how effective does it need to be on the 1-yard line?
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
I don't know Canuck the running game looked good when they were running. The problem is Jason Garrett is to quick to give up on it. Look at the box score of the game under rushing for the Cowboys. The longest run stat looks good.

At the same time the number of runs are low. So I wouldn't agree that the running game wasn't ineffective. I would say the running game was abandoned too early.
  • MONSTER
they only ran i think like 11 times
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Mostly in the first half Monster. That's Jason Garrett for you. Can't seem to break that bad habit of not using all his weapons.

When Tony Romo spreads the ball around the team wins. When he tries to force feed any one particular player then they become one dimensional.

  • I'm right here. But I am German American. I understand disappointed with your teams performance so you take a shot at us. Enjoy the perks of the division lead while you can. Hopefully the Eagles can get their LBs and O Line healthy at some point this season otherwise it looks like it might be a cake walk for the Cowboys. The Redskins have been terrible and the Giants really need to make a statement after the bye week. Still a 1 game lead in this division has been coughed up often in the past. I can't tell if its a down year for the NFC East or an unlucky one. Should be an interesting finish.

Finally, I can't do anything but respect that DaBird.

The Cowboys will deal with whatever happens. You got to understand we don't listen to ESPN or any of these naysayers. I for one have said all along. If Jason Garrett breaks his habit of not using all his weapons. The Cowboys will be hard to beat.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
True, Robbo. If he spreads the ball around like he did in the four games before Green Bay, the Cowboys are tough to defend. A couple of quick screens would have stopped all of those linebacker blitzes. The LB's had all of the sacks on Sunday. Not one lineman for GB got a sack.

Todd Hedley can be put in that catagory. Jerry wants the coaches that don't win, and chase off all the ones that do. That goes for players also. Giving these Eagles fans room to talk like they do.

Andy Reid, and the rest of his team, is taking a beating lately in the Nest. Just like last year at this time.

I don't think flukes strike twice. Despite the Eagles sneaking up on a few teams last year. Teams will not let that happen this year. The Eagles have a bullseye on their backs. No games will go unchallenged.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
Eagles are giving up points this year. God bless Jim Johnson and may he rest in peace, but that defense is not the same.
  • We haven't hit our potential yet. Consistency problems due to the youth of the team. The defense has been too banged up all year to perform like last year. Trent has had another good year. But a banged up secondary and linebacking core has created mismatches. Last year wasn't a fluke the past 5 years or so this team has played their best football at the end of the year. Even when we went 8-8 we prevented a completely embarrassing year by finishing strong. We are one game back in the division and frankly no one in the NFC East has done anything to make you think they are the clear favorite to win it. We've all had good games and terrible ones.

This sunday nite it doesn't look good for the Eagles again. The Bears are due for a convincing win. Playing in Soldier Field on a cold November night don't look good. The Eagles are looking crappy right now.

The local Eagles fans are beating up on their team. If you listen to them they'd lead you to believe they are the best fans out there. We here on this site know better. Just like last year at this time.
  • Our D has given up big plays but we have managed to get our turnovers. Don't be surprised if Cutler has one of his 4 Interception/how can anyone call me an elite QB performances. You better hope your team is more concerned about its division game coming up than you are. History should have taught you that no one has this division won in November.

I'm focusing on how you and your fans treat your beloved team when things don't go well. Mind you this is happening now up there in Eagles Land.

It's really going to get real ugly when the Eagles lay a royal green egg in Chi-Town. All the talk about the past isn't going to save the Eagles from the firestorm that'll be waiting by your Eagles precious.

Thank God Cowboys fans don't eat our own like that. I hope one day you Eagles fans grow up and realize the world don't revolve around the Eagles and your own little desires. All you do is want to cause trouble by being obnoxious. Only makes you look bad when you get outsmarted again for what you're trying to do.

I feel embarrassed for the stable Eagles fans who are proud of their team but not so much for most of their delusional fanmates.
