"JUDGMENT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is a long time coming to see what happens to the two rivals in the NFC East seeking the top spot. The first of the two we play against each other. It just so happens that each game we play is the last game in each half of the season.

It also appears that their ace in the hole ESPN's last minute bombshells aren't going to work this time. As I stated last year Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett has to get some experience in the NFC East and the cutthroat way of they play. Now you have on the other hand.

Wade Phillips who doesn't like to run up the score, and wants to be thought of as a good guy. Well he is a good guy, but now is not the time to be a turn the other cheek type of general. This one time he needs to come out with a take no prisoners attitude. If he sticks by his guns with the same old philosophy he'll suffer the same kinds of defeats. Not winning a playoff game in his career is ridiculous.

The onus is on Wade Phillips right now. This game is a precursor of what the future holds. Either he man's up and take the challenge head on, or he fold like a cheap suit and be conciliatory in the face of humiliation. We will see. I feel that the Cowboys play up or down to the talent level they face at any given time. That will explains why they lose games they dominate statistically.

Being a long time Cowboys fan if Wade fails this test. I wouldn't say it's over for him but as far as my support goes. It'll still be there but with a grain of reality attached. Some coaches just aren't cut out to be winners. This time it's real no more hoping for the best . Wade is responsible for preparing the team to win games. If he doesn't do his job on Sunday his level of support from fans will start to drop off. Hopefully it wont come to that but now's the time. "Go Cowboys"!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I may, I`d like to offer one observation. I watched the first twenty or so minutes on NFL.com, which gives several different cameras that the viewer can jump around with. Before the game started, they showed the sidelines extensively. On the Cowboys side, the players were grouping, talking (looked like serious discussions). On the Eagles side, people seemed to be wandering aimlessly about. It was like no one had even a kind word for each other. It makes me think that the `Pokes were constantly getting ready (let`s go over this one more time.) I wish, that I had seen that kind of `team camraderie` happening on the Eagles` sideline. If the Birds were too loose before the game, they sure didn`t get any tighter during it.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
That's because they thought they were going to run roughshod over the Cowboys again. It is nice to see this team coming together, especially the special teams. I think the defense will only get better as the defensive secondary continues to develop. I saw a lot of talk from Philly fans last year about how Mike Jenkins was a bust. He's already got 3-4 INT's and is playing pretty well.

Not to take anything away from Austin/Romo (nice pass and run), but I get a bit irritated with these announcers who seem to feel the need to point out things (Asante`s sudden shyness), for the coaches. You don`t think that somewhere in the Linc, there aren`t those for both teams that have the TV coverage running? I`d bet money on it.
  • Robbo24
    Placard_complete_small
Here it is three days later, and Eagles fans are still crying and complaining and threatening to quit being Eagles fans. This after all that tough talk about how much better the Eagles are over the Cowboys.

It's pathetic to fall apart after only a mid season loss. It's become apparent that Eagles fans are frustrated by their team not winning a Championship. That it drives them to say just about anything to hide how really frustrated they truly are.
    • Wheelman
      Placard_complete_small
Well said 24, I think you summed it up rather well in the second paragraph. Let`s face it, for many the Eagles are IT, the central reason (as they perceive it) for life itself. All through the offseason they talked themselves into a mindset of, `this is the year we do it`. Now, they see New England, New Orleans, and Indianapolis all having superb seasons and when the chance came for division domination, it didn`t happen. Its all pretty discouraging. Especially for those who don`t look beyond the superficial, to the thousands of variables that make a team, or unmake it, and the season.
Of course I`m one of the lucky ones who`s been around long enough to know not to get over emotional over a few games. I wait for several before I bang my head against the wall. Found out over the years that sheetrock ain`t that tough.
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Key thing is Wheel, most of these pessimistic Eagles fans need to realize that these players and teams have hugh resources at their disposal.

Falling apart isn't going to change the situation. You're right there are mitigating circumstances to deal with many times that affect the outcome of each encounter.

In this life the prize goes to those who are willing to take the bitter with the sweet. As fans it's difficult watching futile efforts that come about through missed opportunities.
  • Robbo24
    Placard_complete_small
The distractions that ESPN wants to drubb up against the Cowboys isn't working this year. What happened to Ed Werder and his unnamed sources? Must be in Buffalo. Just goes to show a team united is more successful than a egotistical diva.

The moral of the story is the Cowboys are their own worst enemy when they let outside influences dictate what and how they should conduct themselves when going against opponents.

When the Cowboys don't play the other guy's game then we see success. ESPN is a joke with all the inane wise cracking, and the dumbing down of the fan base that actually pay attention to them.
    • Wheelman
      Placard_complete_small
Its why I come to Yardbarker, three Seahawks blogs, and a couple each for most of the other teams. I haven`t liked broadcast sports news outlets for decades. The NFL channel isn`t bad. Eisen is kinda laid back, not much for starting controversy. Your center paragraph could be true for every team.
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
The attitude of powers that be have no interest in the fans other than getting the most viewers to tune in, and your money, ESPN I'm referring to.

They have been accused of a east coast bias, I say they have a big market bias. If you are for a small market team. That's the reason you don't get much love from ESPN.

Wheel, let me tell you despite what ESPN does it's up to you and fans of other teams to bring the sports public up to speed on your perspective teams. Who better to do that than you. Spread the word you'll/we'll all will be the better for it.

You guys crack me up. You trash Eagles fans for jumping on and off the bandwagon, yet you act after 8 games that your ship is righted and all the stuff before the Eagles game has dissapeared. Weren't you the ones saying that maybe Romo needed to be replaced a few short weeks ago. (don't make me go back and find those comments, BB)Things change quickly in the NFL and this thing is far from over. A lot will change by the time we meet in Jan. I wouldn't be surprised if the Gmen are in front of both the Eagles and Cowboys by then. Ya just don't know. I'm not here to start a name calling post, just feel we all need to take a step back and see how it all plays out at seasons end. Should be interesting for sure.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
Oh, I'll admit being down on Romo, but this team is showing improvement every week in all phases of the game, especially on special teams. What a difference a year makes and four wins in a row. I agree that it's far from over, but I like what I am seeing and it's quiet here in Dallas for a change. Not all of the hoopla and distractions. Different mindset amongst the whole team and I know that's not what the rest of the NFC wants to see or is used to. If Dallas gets by Green Bay, they could be 9-2 going into December and a whole lot of people didn't think we would even win nine games this year.

Naw, I'll admit they have done a nice job rebounding from that Giants loss early and they are def on the right track. As a fan of a team you circle this as a win that as a loss, you just never know. I guess you have earned the right to toot your teams horn and they may well be on the way to 9-2 or maybe they stumble and disappoint you as a fan. Just reading these comments makes me laugh. I agree some Eagles fans go way overboard, but so does a lot of fans. When you are winning, aint no better feeling that's for sure.

Not to change the subject the Eagles are floundering right now with key injuries, and you fans are strangely quiet about your next game against the Chargers. From my understanding the Chargers are hitting their stride as of late. So instead of focusing on the Cowboys. I'm interested more in your expectations of how the Eagles will keep pace in the race to make the playoffs.

The Cowboys are playing very well right now. To answer your question. Green Bay is on a downward spiral on offense. Due mainly with the inability protecting Arron Rodgers. Consequently, our front seven has progressed with each game. The odds are good that Wade will keep the team focused on the Packers thus obtaining the win.
