Taking The Bitter With The Sweet. Tony Romo's Play Let's The Cowboys Down.

What a difference a week makes? This time last week I was singing the praises of Tony Romo and his #1 passer rating. How if he keeps consistent that the Cowboys will have a legitimate chance to be successful in the post season.

Well now I have eat that most unsavory of dishes "Crow under glass", with a side dish of "Eggs (on my face) Benedict". Yep,...... Tony for whatever reason can't break his old habit of grabbing defeat out of the jaws of victory. Old habits are hard to break I guess. My boy didn't do so well last night, so what, it is what it is. As a true fan I/we will stay the course. We're going to believe the team will figure this out and move towards goals that were set this off season.

Pointing fingers and getting all negative only hurts the teams chances further. The Dallas Cowboys learned that hard lesson last year. We as fans must be on one accord despite the naysayers and pundits. The truth is coming out from last year's debacle, and it appears F/O personnel made not to prudent a decision in leting certain personnel go.

So now we move on and not dwell on spilt Budweiser under the bridge. Sure the loss was disappointing, but we're working to make sure this doesn't happen again. A big congratulations is in order to New York Giants and their fans for a well fought game by the reigning NFC East Champs, and deservedly so.

Overall, the team played well enough to win so if Romo just cuts out the bad throws then we'll be fine.
  • THat was a good game to watch. Romo did let you down. Other then that fluke interception that hit off wittens foot, the other interceptions were just terrible. I dont think the giants looked that good either. Canuck is right you guys prolly win that game if romo doesnt make some of those throws.

I am too much of a sorry @$$ to stay up -- I read that Barber got hurt, when did he go out?

The play before Felix Jones' TD. The wheel fell off. Looked like a pull quad, that's unofficial.

      Placard_complete_small
It's a quad and the BEAST is going to be out for a bit. Who ever thought we would run against the Giants like that? They tore them a new one on the ground, but Romo just didn't support them on his end.

If I were the estimable Mr. Jones, I would bring in Messrs Aikman and Staubach, for a heart-to-heart sit down with Tony. He needs guidance and who better to give it than his successful predecessors?

A legitimate QB coach would be useful also. Kind of like a Dan Reeves sort of coach.

Staubach had been a big mentor to Aikman. Maybe Troy needs to turn around and do the same for Tony. Tony is just never going to be the leader Troy was. He just doesn't have it in his makeup. You can tell by the way he talks in interviews. His play is going to have to be his leadership quality and Sunday night, it didn't show.
    • Robbo24
      Placard_complete_small
Yeah, you already know the answer to that question.
    • Canuck
      Placard_complete_small
Jason Garrett was backup to Troy so no need for a QB coach. Tony can be himself, its not lack of leadership, its just lack of experience. The learning curve for the QB position is long
  • Keep the ball on the ground and wear out the other team's defense with ground and pound football. Felix Jones, Choice, and Barber are the real weapons on this offense now. The less Romo puts it in the air, the less liability and the better off he will be. The running game is rock solid now and should be utilized to the maximum.

Barber is out for at least 2-3 games, so it's Felix and Tashard now. Still not a bad duo to have, but Barber was insane the other night. We need that man in the lineup.
  • ItsWhatever
Looks like Barbers fine. He practiced today, and said he wasn't feeling it at all.

Just hope he doesn't push him self back too quick, especially after Jones questioned his manhood last year during another injury. If Dallas can run like that against the Giants, things may be looking up if Romo gets his stuff together.

    Oh no he didn't...

Having visited the palace Sunday, New York Giants linebacker Danny Clark came away less than overly impressed with Jerry Jones' new $1.1-billion Cowboys Stadium. Clark told Sirius XM satellite radio that the visiting locker room inside the stadium features few creature comforts. "There's not a lot of hot water in there," Clark said. "[Jones] cut some corners in the bathroom there." Clark also was dismissive of the noise factor created by an NFL-record crowd of 105,121. "It wasn't as loud as you would think 105,000 people would be," he said.

"I played in New Orleans when we reopened the [Super]Dome in 2006 after Hurricane Katrina.

"That place was twice as loud as this new stadium."

I'd say there is a distinct difference in 'nose picking' between the two.

Jerry used the dig, dig, pluck technique. I hope it showed on the Jumbo Tron.

Have to focus on Atlanta for now, but we will see them again in our house on November 22nd.

He is from PA, and has a history of being an @$$hole don't surprise me one bit. I was happy when he left. I never been a big fan. Fumbled too much and caused too many distractions, like now. What's new?

Atlanta is not going to be a cakewalk. Looks like the Pats could be a little vulnerable.
    • ItsWhatever
The Pat's O-line has looked fairly terrible. But Tom's knee is a problem as well. Can't forget Welker wasn't in the game either.
    • Canuck
      Placard_complete_small
Dorsett's comment wasn't being cruel. He was actually referring to the fact that Romo was a backup QB and as soon as he became the starter, the media and fans made him out to be a superstar. The fact is he needs more time to develop and given that he is the QB of the Cowboys, he is placed at a higher standard.....whether he likes it or not.
    • razah12

Those are some of the best responses I have ever heard.

      Seriously!

From Tony Dorsett to the Pats to the Falcons. An excellent volley!

Robbo, if the guy is a jerk than I can understand. Thanks for the background.

BB, I know Atlanta is going to be tough. I routed for Ryan at BC but he must go down this week. And yes, the Pats are vulnerable. We could have been sitting pretty if we beat both Buffalo and the Jets, considering Miami is 0-2. But shoulda coulda woulda doesn't float in the NFL.

ItsWhatever, O-line is def not on Brady's Isotoner Christmas list yet. They got to step it up. I also think they should use a full back as a blocker to help when the defensive blitz schemes of the opposing teams gets too difficult. Not only could his knee be bothering him and ALSO his shoulder. Although he is throwing a lot, he doesn't seem to be able to get Moss the big one. Then there is the 'rust' as they say it and yes Welker was out. Edelman did a nice job stepping up for Welker, but what a lot of people are forgetting is that MAYO is out as well. He is defensive captain. But as Brady said in his local weekly interview, he said they have to get better, its' as simple as that. He did say that the veterans especiallly need to step up their leadership. Harrison, Seau, Seymour and Bruschi aren't walking through that door.

Canuck, it sounded kind of harsh. The Jessica Simpson crap and the mishandled snap hurt his cause. I like the kid and I hope things work out for him.

Not that I know of.....But breaking up doesn`t always mean that a relationship is truly over, or for both people. Such a situation could very easily be a distraction, or something that would affect job performance. Its only speculation on my part that this `could` be a problem in Tony`s life, lest PFT pick up on it and run with a BIG SCOOP.
