Former ASU QB Keller headed to Nebraska?
Sam Keller, the quarterback who had, then subsequently lost the Arizona St. number one job, in less than one week's time, will reportedly transfer to Nebraska. He will have to sit out this season, but since Nebraska's current QB, Zac Taylor, is a senior, the situation seems to be a perfect fit for both him and the university. ASU will be led this year by Rudy Carpenter, who last year, stepped in week 6 after Keller was injured and proceeded to lead the nation in QB efficiency. ASU head coach, Dirk Koetter, had named Keller the starter last Friday, only to change his mind three days later. There is some speculation that players on the team heavily favored Carpenter for the job and went to the coach behind closed doors to ask him to reconsider his decision. ASU is currently ranked #24 in the preseason polls. They open their season Aug. 31 against Northern Arizona.
