Brian Westbrook leaves game with concussion

Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook leaves Monday night's game during the first quarter at Washington with a concussion.

Westbrook suffered the concussion when he was running with the ball when he was knocked back, and on his way down the back of his helmet struck the knee of Washington Redskins linebacker London Fletcher. After the hit Brian Westbrook laid motionless on the field for a while, surrounded by members of the Eagles training staff and head coach Andy Reid, along with Washington Redskins cornerback Byron Westbrook who happens to be Brian's younger brother.

Brian was eventually physically able to leave the field under his own ability.

It was then mentioned by a member of the Monday Night football crew that Brian Westbrook would not return.
