DeSean Jackson gets X-rays on his foot

Apparently Brian Westbrook wasn't the only Philadelphia Eagles play-maker to get injured on Monday Night.

According to Brian Seltzer of ESPN 950 AM, Philadelphia Eagles go-to wide receiver DeSean Jackson suffered an injury to his foot an underwent an x-ray during half-time. The x-rays were negative and obviously DeSean was feeling up to playing on his injured foot because he returned to the field after half-time.

Jackson scored two long touchdowns in the first-half of Monday night's game at Washington. One was a 67-yard reverse during the Eagles opening drive, on their fourth attempt. Then Jackson caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from starting quarterback Donovan McNabb during the final Eagles drive of the second quarter. That touchdown would be the last score of the night for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Eagles really dodged a bullet tonight, if the injury to DeSean's foot turned out to have sidelined him for any amount of time, not only would the Eagles be down their top play-maker, they would be down yet another receiver in an already depleated Eagles receiving core.

The Eagles came into the 2009 season with more receivers then they knew what to do with, then before they knew it they were forced to cut Hank Baskett, Kevin Curtis had his knee scoped and rookie sixth-round draft pick, Brandon Gibson was traded away in the deal from St Louis for linebacker Will Witherspoon.

Gibson wasn't the only Eagles receiver to end up in a Rams jersey this season. Danny Amendola who was turning heads during the pre-season for the Eagles, made their practice squad, but the Rams picked him up on their 53-man roster.

With Curtis out for what look like the remainder of 2009, the Eagles currently only have four active wide receivers on their roster.
