Donovan McNabb will likely return in week-five.
During the post-game show on NBC Sunday night, Peter King reported that Philadelphia Eagles starting quarterback Donovan McNabb will not be starting during the Eagles week three game against the Kansas City Chiefs. King reported that back-up quarterback Kevin Kolb is more than likely going to get his second start with the Philadelphia Eagles. While King states that Kevin Kolb's back-up, Michael Vick, will "get a 10-play package."
According to Eagles Rumors.com, as of Sunday night it may have been a little too early for Andy Reid and the Eagles to make any determination on the status of Donovan McNabb for this weeks game, despite what Kings source might have exposed to him.
But as of today, Wednesday, it turns out that King's source has some sort of mystic powers which allow him to see into the future. That or the Eagles made the decision to rest Donovan through the bye week up until they return in week five, and King's source was made aware of this.
Because Donovan McNabb made some throws during practice, where it was revealed that Donovan could not throw with his normal velocity, depth or accuracy. So if Donovan's fractured rib is preventing him from throwing like a National Football League quarterback, then you might as well have him sit for another two weeks until he is close to completely healed and can return back to old, fun-loving, cannon arm self.
Jeff Garcia is expect to stay on the Eagles roster and be released sometime during the bye-week. It was revealed over the weekend that Garcia's contract will only last for two games. This also lends credibility to the theory that the Eagles made the decision to rest Donovan until week-five. Or why else would they only sign Garcia to such a short contract?
