McChoke gets lucky against woeful Skins

McChoke goes 15 - 25 with one TD.....seems respectable, but easy passes were in the dirt and he was peeing his pants in the pocket all night. The bomb to Desaun was a hail mary that Desean had to actually stop and wait for ...which he could do since the coverage was ridiculously bad. They were 3 and out all night. They had 11 first downs to the Skins 17. McChoke should be washing Desean's car and cleaning his house cause without him McChoke would be GONE. I will be at the Giants game and fully expect to see McChoke exposed once again.....I expect a Ravens like experience....and it was sad to hear JAWS speak so highly of McChoke when he was forced to follow-up on Chucky"s glowing comments...we know the JAWS is not a McChoke fan....

Though I have been having a bit of a problem with McNabb lately I still think he's our best shot for the time being. That being said, you are absolutely right. He is not playing like he should. I said it in a different post and I'll say it again, we got the check mark in the Win column, but I feel as though we didn't lose the game, not that we won.
As bad as the giants are, I don't know if the team that played last night can beat them next week.
    • egglesphan
      Agreed
    • hollywoodeagle
Mcnabb still looks hurt to me. He just is looking so off with his passes and just not making smart decisions
  • EazyEagleZ
Mcnabb did not have a good game. Neither did the runnin game or the offensive line. The playcalling was pretty bad too. The penalties are starting to show a team that is lacking in concentration as well. Still with all of the problems this team could be in first place in the division by the end of next Sunday.
    • egglesphan
      don't bet on it
    • EazyEagleZ
The Giants have not played well against teams with winning records so far. That is a winnable game, but they can't play like they did on Monday.
    • hollywoodeagle
Reids game calling just seems so random. It doesnt seem like he ever gets a feel for whats actually happening. Even at the endo of the game when he can kill clock and run the ball he is risking his players. I just dont like him as a coach. As a GM thats a different story.

hey eazy dont act like you have not seen the article i started....go leave a comment

I have not, but if I see it I will.

"Desaun"... You never fail to prove my point.

Why is it that you are the most pessimistic in this site? Post something positive for a change.

Ben Roethlisberger has literally made a career and won two rings by playing games like this but I don't hear any Steelers fans complaining. If your defense is dominating then there is no reason for the offense to force anything to pad the stats. Sometimes you just need to maintain field position and put the game in your defense's hands.

Eaglsphan,it's comical that your scrutinizing Mcnabb for winning a game and throwing a TD pass--I mean C'mon bro?...
    • hollywoodeagle
Yeah but putting the game in defenses hands doesnt mean punting from your own 20. Plus to have no 1st downs on 3rd and 10 or more all season is just incredible. I think Vick should get some passing opportunities. Its like Andy is trying to get his head knocked off. At least run some sort of fake w/Vick so defenders have to guess if he is running. Horrible use of an excellent athlete.

Big Ben can thread the needle with his passes...McChoke throws worm burners all day long...and Big Ben gets a pass for a mediocre game because he has WON TWO SUPER BOWLS!!!! getit!!! HE HAS WON TWO SUPERBOWLS after his first 5 years in the league and a motorcycle accident...he is the REAL DEAL

I guess I didn't realize that you can pass for 30,000yds 200td's and 91int's and go to 5 NFC Championships, 1 Super Bowl, and 5 Pro Bowls by throwing worm burners all day. Big Ben has 2 Super Bowls because the Steelers D took games over and took the pressure off the offense just like we did last night. Do you have any football IQ or are you just a complete imbosol?

      Placard_complete_small
Philly's defense has taken the pressure off of McNabb for years, too.
    • hollywoodeagle
Both of you are right. The defense carries the Steelers but lets not forget they ALWAYS have a physical running game. And Ben gets the nod over McNabb in clutch situations. If you watched the superbowl you would know this.
    • hollywoodeagle
But, to his credit McNabb has worked with far less talent and has often taken over games with his multi-talented abilities. Ben R doesnt single handedly take over games.

I've seen Big Ben escape a lot of rushes and complete passes. Saw it personally here in Dallas a couple of years ago. His offensive line is not that good, so he is always having to improvise. He may not have speed and grace McNabb had in his earlier years, but he gets out of trouble quite a bit.

      Placard_complete_small
Bowl Bound, we may have had good defense but they were nothing close to the Steelers D over the last few years.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
Have to disagree. Wasn't your defense ranked third last season? And, how many times have they been in the top ten in McNabb's career?
    • BRINKSTER
      Placard_complete_small
Our D was ranked 3rd but they gave up 32 pts in the NFC Championship. Mcnabb accounted for more total yards and one less TD than the Cards entire offense and we still lost. We're always in the top ten but the Steelers D is in the top ten of all-time.
  • egglesphan
Let me know when you see McChoke make a pass like the one that Big Ben made in the Super Bowl last you in the endzone
    • hollywoodeagle
Give Mcnabb the Steelers skill position players and he will do it.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
You can end the skill players argument. You guys have finally got the weapons you fans have been whining about for years.
    • BRINKSTER
      Placard_complete_small
Yeah we have great weapons but let's remeber how long DJax, Maclin, and Mccoy have been in the league for. We have rookies and second year players playing huge roles in our offense and we're still 4-2. I don't know why anyone is complaining. I think we need to give this offense time before we start demanding so much out of it.
    • BowlBound
      Placard_complete_small
Actually, Jackson is the only one who came in "NFL ready". The others are having to catch up. They may or may not. That's the chance you take when drafting players. I think the offense will get better, but only if the offensive line improves.
  • egglesphan
    That would be NEVER!!!!!!!
  • Big Ben went 9 for 21, 123 yards and 2 INTS in his first Superbowl and they still won. Just sayin...
    • egglesphan
he is the leader of a team that has two trophies in 5 years...McChokehas no trophies after 11 years and 5 trips to the championship game...JUST SAYIN'
  • And last time I checked, McNabb had a bomb to DeSean for a touchdown, the Eagles won and they didn't turn the ball over. Not sure what everyone is whining about.

Before it was all about getting a win because McNabb's stats don't matter. Now that the Eagles get a win people are complaining?

      Placard_complete_small
Only one whiner on this post. Hata isn't sn Eagles Phan no matter what he says...
    • egglesphan
SUPER BOWL TROPHY....that is what it is all ablout my friend
    • Ernwoo
I agree with you Filly, egglesphan is not an Eagles fan. Try being a Panthers fan with a QB that has 13 INTS in 6 games, with a 2-4 record. McNabb will appear in a SuperBowl, and probably win one before he hangs up his helmet ( with or without Philadelphia ). As I've said before, he's a Top Ten NFL QB, a proven leader, so stop your whining and enjoy your winning.
  • giantsrepeat
Damn, I have to mark this date on my calendar...an eagles fan saying his team should lose to the Giants, now I know the end is near.
  • I've seen these posts, and I'm a true eagles fan, but the performance that Donavan had last night, was average. He is the franchise QB, and should be dominating with all the weapons he has. In his first few years, I would watch at Vet Stadium, and see him throw one up for the defense to intercept, instead of throwing it away. He has matured, and still he throws balls each game in the dirt, and 5 yards ahead or behind of receivers? Desean has to wait for the ball, and break his stride? Even though the play calling was crappy, and the offensive line is maturing, we should have blown the skins away. I don't care about stats, or that we won the game, but beat the skins....only by 10 points? did anyone watch the game against Oakland? Vick was in for the wildcat for like 2 or 3 plays? With Vick on the field, it totally throws off defenses. We shoulda ran the wildcat like 10 times, and every time put Vick at a different position. Yes we did take 5 NFC championships, and went to a bowl.....yes.....a bowl we should have won. I remember T O standing with his hands up, wide open, and Donovan didn't connect. Several times. As far as the Steelers? different team, different coaches, and different play calling.

I don't want to offend anyone, and am only just severely depressed with the Eagles always coming up short, and there's always an excuse. I bleed green, and have been to countless games with my Grandfather since Ron Jaworski. How about this year, no excuses, and just get it done. In my opinion, and that's all that this is, the Eagles should have no problem with taking the NFC east. I'm worried about the playoffs. I'm worried about Westbrook. I'm worried that if we don't make it to the playoffs, Andy Reid will take the blame and admit his play calling was wrong. I'm worried that we keep coming up short.

      Still...stats don't lie...30,000yds 200td's and 91int's and go to 5 NFC Championships, 1 Super Bowl, and 5 Pro Bowls...as Brinkster said.

McNabb has his faults, but still the best option at QB in this town. Reids play calling sure doesn't help the situation.

      Placard_complete_small
I totally agree with you and the part that really gets to me is Reid ONCE AGAIN taking the blame and not doing a thing to change it!!!!

      Exactly....
  • kristinmasyn
so negative, our o-line needs work but a win is a win, and im happy with it!
  • Zukny1
I do have to say, the second half of that game, wasn't even worth watching. At least the eagles don't have Campbell At QB Though.
    • egglesphan
so we are satisfied that at least we are not as bad as the skins...how about not being satisfied that we have never won a super bowl...and that McChoke has had 5 trips to the championship game without a super bowl win...how about that is the reason you play the game...to win the super bowl.....how about that!!!!

    • Super Bowl Trophy? You know you can't win the Super Bowl in week 7 right? Take the win. Get the sand out of your vagina.

The Eagles always get better as the season goes on! the last time they started out great was in 2004 when we were like what 6-0? something like that, anyways my point is things will come around!
