Vick Ready to LEAVE Philly

Vick: A return to the Eagles would be "an everyday struggle" Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on November 9, 2009 11:09 AM ET On Sunday night, Tony Dungy mentioned Buffalo as a possible "dark horse" to retain the services of Michael Vick in 2010. What's clear is that Vick is unlikely to stay in Philadelphia, and it sounds like that's just fine with him.

"It would be hard," Vick said of returning to the Eagles in a conversation with Bob Costas. "It would be an everyday struggle. But I would have to take that time to hone my skills and get better. I'm excited about the opportunity I have moving forward whether it's with Philadelphia or another team."

Vick thinks he has more to offer than just being a Wildcat quarterback -- he only played two snaps Sunday night in Philadelphia's loss to Dallas.

"I won't be a Wildcat guy. I can't," Vick said, speaking about his future. "It's a different style of play. It's almost like a hit-or-miss type of thing. My position is quarterback. That's what I was born to do."

Approached after the game by the Associated Press, Vick wisely didn't discuss his future. It can only serve as a distraction right now. But as we wrote last night, Vick's lack of explosiveness in the present is not going to help his chances of getting a job or Philadelphia's chances of getting decent trade offers.

Even Vick admits to having doubts about his ability.

"I would be lying if I said there wasn't some doubt there. I'm being realistic about the situation," Vick said.

i Second that.......really doesn't bring anything to the offense and i really could do with out the predictable 2 yd run or handoff

It was never about him playing here. I always believed the Eagles only brought him here because of McNabb's injury history and the fact they could get a decent draft pick from a team later. It was never about him playing in front of Mcnabb. Never about "rehabilitating" him. I'm sure he'll be on another team next season where he can show his skills.

Dungy says Buffalo. Can you even begin to imagine a team that has both TrickyVick AND the Circus??? Lock up your dogs Buffalo, and all those among you who are still sane.

From what I'm reading they're done with TO in Buffalo, but I think it would be funny to have them on the same team. Any time TO has a problem he'll throw the animal killer under the bus and will be thrown to the dogs for it. Except this time he will be literally thrown to the dogs. LOL
  • TheSweez
I would love to see him go. He wasn't even that good when he was on Atlanta. the_whole9 will most likely be creaming in his jeans to see his man crush get a starting job up in Buffalo.

youre A PHUKN retard an dont know football . Vick was a 3 time pro bowler, threw for 2500 yrds, 20ds, and rushed for a 1039 yds HIS LAST SEASON DUMBAZZ. HE MANAGED TO DO ALL THIS with a horrible Oline. HE DIDNT PHUKN HAVE PRO BOWL LINEMAN HIS WHOLE CAREER LIKE MCFLABB TO PASS PROTECT FOR HIM AN HE GOT THE FALCONS TO AN NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME WITH NOT ONE N0 1 receiver on HIS PHUCKN TEAM. HE DIDNT HAVE T.O ON HIS TEAM. If he did i guarantee you he wouldnt have puked in a superbowl an got tired . PHUCK MCFLABB!
    • TheSweez
And who did Vick lose to in that NFC champ game? oh yes, McNabb

      Vick was 11/24 136 yards, 0 TD's, 1 INT
      McNabb was 17/26 180 yards, 2 TD's, 0 INT

The only Falcon to score a TD in that game was Dunn...

And Mcnabb has been to 4 NFC champ games, only in 2004 did he have a "N0 1 receiver on HIS PHUCKN TEAM"

Yeah we should start Vick and not McNabb, These stats must be fake.
    • TheSweez
oops, 5 count em 5 NFC champ games

PHUCK THE MOTHAPHUKN EAGLES THEY AZZ WILL BE LUCKY IF THEY GET A WILDCARD SPOT, IVE HATED THE WAY THEY USED VICK THIS SEASON. EVEN WHEN THEY PUT HIM OUT THERE WITH THE 3RD STRING OFFENSE, NO WNDER HE WAS running for his life.
    • hollywoodeagle
Ur whole right. They have wasted his talent. Shows you what a coaching schmuck Reid is is. He is a great personnel guy and a horrible game day coach. Otherwise Vick would see action.

You`ve gotta calm down man, ain`t worth it to hyper-ventilate. You also have to realize that you are picturing him in ideal situations, which unfortunately don`t come around that often. You and I don`t know what`s going on with any particular player behind the scenes. If we did, we`d be getting checks from the Eagles. Philly is not the right situation for Vick, as they have two QB`s ahead of him. Buffalo would probably be a better fit, if he can stand the cold. It gets dammed cold in December and January in the Niagara Frontier.

PEOPLE ARE STUPID TO SAY ITS VICK'S FAULT, THAT MAN STILL HAS IT, I WILL BE A VICK FAN TIL HE RETIRES, HE DOES HAVE XPLOSIVENESS, BUT THE STUPID AZZ EAGLES ARENT USING HIM ENOUGH FOR HIM TO GET INTO A RHYTHM, NOT TO MENTION .VICK CAME IN A 222, HE JUST LOST HIS WEIGHT AN IS DOWN TO HIS PLAYIN WEIGHT OF 207. Vick Played with a bunch of 3rd stringers in the Pre Season, Came right in playing Football After 3 yrs, MISSED ALL OF TRAINING CAMP. hE STILL has it but he aint gonna show shyyt Playing 1/2 a phuckin game, GOD I HATE THE EAGLES, THEY ARE SO STUPID, INCLUDING THE FANS THAT THINK HE SUCKS, ARE EVEN MORE STUPID
    • hollywoodeagle
whole Vick is talented. When he left the league i think he was the highest paid QB. So he wasnt thought of as a no talent bum. As for Donovan, hes been an underappreciated player but I have to admit he looked old and beat up in that cowboy game. he clearly has lost a step and zip on the ball.

      Placard_complete_small
Hey, if I had a cracked rib sending me signals on a regular basis I`d bet that I would look old and beat up too........Wait a sec, I don`t have a cracked rib, but I DO look old and beat up. So much for that theory.
  • The way they are using him is crazy----I would let him run offense for three downs--until it's over--not stupid one play and out---Fine if he goes to another team,he will be starting qb---that's what he wants,to be the guy. There are a number of teams available---he is just happy,to be back in league---for get playing time--and get his life back in order----EAGLES ORGANIZATION,has to be congrat!!!!!for that-----
    • the_whole9
YEA agreed, but i really hope he plays for another team. IM A VICK FAN, HE WINS GAMES HELL AN ON TOP OF THAT HES A FUN ********** to watch

whole9, you seem to forget that the whole nfl wasn`t knocking down his door to sign him. if he is still as "great" as you say he is, then the whole league just about would have went after him. and ranting and raving and calling people names only shows that yopu don`t know as much as you think you do. or that you are a kid.

Said it before (more than once), and I`ll say it one more time. Vick wasn`t hired to be a starter, or even to be a major contributor. It was before they really knew if Kolb, could step up if DMAC went down. Kolb did much better than expected and that sealed Vick`s fate with the Birds. If you`re a Vick fan, before the team, you`ll have to wait until he moves on, or Kolb does. DMAC is the man for Philly, like it or not. That`s just the way it is.
    • hollywoodeagle
good point wheel. kolb served notice that hes in the mix. I never liked him over Mcnabb but i always thought he made good reads just didnt have the arm. But his starts proved he was accurate and can deliver.
  • kristinmasyn
from watching the interview, if the Eagles dont want Vick then he is free to go, but if we want him he cant go anywhere! im sure we were just a stepping stone for him! i wanted it to work out but it doesnt seem like it is, why cant we come up with big plays?

The Eagles have to get credit for giving him a chance at getting his life back. The quarterback position was not up for grabs. Vick should be grateful to McNabb (and the whole organization) for their support. I wish him well, and hopefully he will find a team that needs a quarterback and play to his ability. The couple times he has played, he has not really done anything. Yes, with more playing time it could change. However, the Eagles have a super quarterback and are trying to be a play-off team. They should not risk their chances at the play-offs to help Vick become a better player.
