Westbrook is cleared to play the Cowboys Sunday night.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook time off will come to an end this week. That's right, it seems as if the concussion he suffered during week sevens Monday night's game against the Redskins wasn't as extreme as most once believed it was.

Eagles coach Andy Reid confirmed Wednesday that Brian Westbrook has been medically cleared to take part in Sunday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys at the Linc. Even though Westbrook did not participate in Eagles practice today. Andy Reid said that Brian is "Good to go", unless an unforeseen setback occurs prior to Sunday night.

You can tell that Andy was relieved to get the news out about Brian Westbrook being cleared medically to play, because he decided to poke fun of the collision which caused Brian's concussion.

Reid said, Brian's head usually only hits the shins of most defenders, but it hit Redskins linebacker London Fletcher's knee because the two players were "two of the shortest guys on the field." Both players are said to stand at 5'-10", but the two are probably smaller than that.

Andy's attempt at humor makes me miss the clear-his-throat, give little answers as possible, Andy. Because believe me, no one should poke fun at a concussion, remember just because Brian's cleared to play this week, doesn't mean he's out of the woods just yet. It seems like every week we hear about another athlete who thought he was healthy to return from a concussion only to find out, the hard way, that he wasn't. I'd hate Brian to become one of those players.

Other players who were missing at Eagles practice today include, linebacker Chris Gocong, Defensive end Victor Abiamiri and wide receiver Kevin Curtis.

The concussion, plus his injuries in the past, gives me concern for Westie. My concern is for BW the person, not Eagles 36. Those who are injury-prone often develop more serious health issues as they go through life. Lets not forget it either that the mortality median age for pro football players is not that good. Go easy with him Andy, he`s been the Lionheart of the Eagles and deserves a ton of respect.

Very well said Wheel. I think just having him on the field is going to be enough to make the defefnse a little nervous. I predict the "Flea Flicker" to DJax early in this game.

I CANT F'N WAIT FOR SUNDAY NIGHT!!!

      GO BIRDS!

Some info that some might be able to use.....NFL.com will have the game streaming live, most likely in HD. Whats good about it, is that they give several different camera views that you, can select. You can even watch whats going on during the commercials.

agh, I just read on Profootballtalk that the concussion scared B-west, and that he is thinking about what the impacts are going to be like later in life.

I am starting to think this really could be B-wests last season. More injuries, a serious concussion, and a new guy waiting in the wings. Its always Scary when something like this happens to any player. Didnt' they say if Trent Dilfer had one more Concussion he could die? .. the man still played!.. football players are crazy.

They`re in the money trap. Big house, cars, clothes, vacations in Tahiti or St. Tropez, jewelry, condo in the Caribbean. Only way to keep all that going, is to keep playing, and BEGIN to save for lifes` rainy days, and hope they have enough time left to amass what they`ll need for their retirement days.

I want BWest back but I fear Phat Phuck now. Without BWest Phat Phuck was forced to play a much more balanced run/pass game. Is Phat Phuck going to ignore that now and go back to his old ways. I swear that guy drives me nuts. I want BWest in the game, but I don't want the same old plays in Phat Phucks head.

I love Brian and want him to be healthy, not just for Philly but for himself. If this is his last season, he definitely deserves a championship. Also, I feel better with the other runners on the team.
