AND NOW FOR THE UNDRAFTED ROOKIES.

AMONG The Undrafted Rookies we added, several of them caught my eye and peaked my curiosity:

LS: Adam Steiner - After last years debacle I will NEVER EVER underestimate the importance of a LS.

TE: Brian Leonhardt - ANOTHER TE???

RB: Deonte Williams - As an area native he should be amped to play in front of friends and family and represent his home city.

C: Deveric Gallington - I had scoured the landscape to find a Center I liked and found none. So when I saw his name and didn't recognize it, it sent up a flare. At 315 and being a G/C, getting him NOW is low risk/high reward.

WR: Conner Vernon - A good route runner who knows how to stem and understands the the closest cut is the deepest. Probably won't stick, but will push the guys who do to polish their route running up a bit.

I'd like to see the last three guys make it because they all strike me as toolbox guys. You need a few toolbox guys to sharpen your roster. Just a handful of guys who got there by working their brains out and their asses off. It sends the signal that you recognize, acknowledge and reward those who work hard. The guy who got there that way will likely keep doing what he's always done. The guys around him who won't, can be the example to others when they lose out to the toolbox guys.

You let the professionals be professional, and cut away the dead weight.
