The Giants are not a mediocre team. They have the best quarterback in the division (and it's not even close), they have the best defensive line in the division, they have the best overall running game in the division, they have the best receiving core in the division, and they have the best coach in the division (and again it's not even close). All of the Giants best players were drafted by the Giants or picked up as rookie FAs by the Giants. At least half of the Eagles best players are free agent signings. Defensively the Eagles have been woeful at drafting. It's a hard pill to swallow, but the bottom line is the Giants are better. Until the Eagles get serious about wanting to win championships they wont win one.

they tried drafting all of their players n they tried signing all of their players. only time we got to the super bowl was when we did both. by the time we got TO n kearse we had lito sheldon in starting position along with mike lewis who were all drafted the same year in 02 along with westbrook. what we need to win this year or next year however u wanna call it is the draft picks from the past couple years to emerge as stars and to fill in holes in FA. in 04 we needed a WR n pass rusher we got one of two in FA/trade. kearse didnt pain out but in 01 we drafted burgess who emerged that year. it takes all pahses of gaining talent to be a great team. how would the pats be without welker? the giants without role? or canty? or boley? or baas? the point is teams need chemistry. it isnt gonna be draft this guy sign this guy superbowl. its draft a couple GOOD players something we lack now, sign people to fill holes, let them grow together and hopefully we win.

I don't mind moves for impact players (even though Kearse and T.O. didn't work out in the end), but still that was only two new components compared to what the Eagles did this past season. I think if the Eagles successfully go out and target one or two free agents who can help them that's fine, but to pick up as many guys as they did last season will not work. The Giants are better because of the free agents they signed, but make no mistake about it the best players on the Giants were drafted by the Giants.

yea no doubt or well drafted by the chrgers n cried until he was on the giants but i know what u mean. but half their impact players were signed or traded for. eagles need to do a hell of a lot better job at drafting theres no denying it but if they go out n sign 3 or 4 star players it doesnt hurt the team if they arent attention wh*res. look at ocho. he didnt work out for the pats but welker did. its all about the individual players not the amount of players in my opinion. if 5 stars are brought in n lay low to the media n help build the team its fine. some guys can just come in n fit in. its all about the chemistry. the draft is easier to do this through cause guys come in together n form a bond from being the same draft the players from the draft before help them along the way with the older veterans. but bringing in all the players we did sure as hell didnt hurt this team. asomo was still better than patterson or hobbs, drc too, landri better than bunkley was for us. its alot of work that needs to be done. they need solid draft this year but adding FA will still help alot

I think chemistry wise the Eagles need to build on the vets
they have now. 4 new vets would be too many, but if they
could add one or two guys that might not be as bad. Personally I would like to see some of their young players
step up and fill some of these holes especially on the
defense. Jaquan Jarrett needs to become a player. Nate
Allen needs to get that confidence back. One of these young linebackers needs to become a pro bowl caliber type
player. Brandon Graham can not be a bust.

graham is a bust allen will be back i believe who knows about jarret maybe make a play on landry helps us n hurts skins, adds physical play n is an uprgrade. not much safety wise in the draft anyway. no matter who they bring in be it draft or free agency they need to fit in. if they draft a guy who is talented as hell but doesnt fit in hes gonna be gone n wont work out. how the players are added to the team doesnt matter its how they play n act once they r on it

Laron Landry isn't a good as you think. He's Taylor Mays
with a better rep. If Graham is indeed a bust this will
be yet another wasted high pick by Reid. At some point
that is going to cost the Eagles. Considering the fact JPP
and the Giants just won the Super bowl while Graham was
losing his Cheese steak fat it already has.

Landry is so great yet many people in the D.C. area
can't wait to see the guy go. He's going to want big
money and honestly he isn't worth it. What has he done
at this point in his career to lift the Redskins? In
fact the most I know him for is starting a pregame
fight with the Eagles and then getting toasted on the

he isnt a great cover guy. he is a physical player who can establish emotion n a toughness. im pretty sure everyones been calling for that right? he is better than coleman right? him n allen would be better than allen n coleman. its all about making improvements right?

isn't. He's going to want top 5 money and he
simply isn't worth it. Now granted Coleman played
in more games than Landry, Coleman did have more
pass defenses, and more interceptions. I can't see
giving all that money to Landry off his Rep.

Desean isnt as good as Hester. No comment

Desean is 1000times better a receiver Hester is better as a return man they play the same style n role but desean is better at it in the offense and can make the same big plays as a returner just not as consistent

LOL, Giants definitely not a mediocre team. As a Patriot fan, I'm picking Giants as a 75% chance to repeat. That D-line is lethal, and pretty young. And Eli took the "Mr. Clutch" mantle away from Brady. And Giant's secondary was using 2nd string players all year.

Route36 I don't see how you have come to that conclusion. There is no reason for the Eagles to fire Reid. People are obviously content with the fact Reid has been a little more than an average coach since 2004 record wise, the Eagles haven't won a playoff game since 2008 yet fans (at least on this site) are too afraid of what life will be like if Reid were gone. The Eagles are filling the seats despite how poor of a product fans are getting at home games. The Eagles have no reason to fire Reid, because the goose is still laying golden eggs.

The front office PR machine has created this Reid(daddy) figure. They have convinced fans that he is the only one. The fuhrer of football- Heil Andy.

It's a selected few (only on this site). Most Eagles fans are fed up with Reid his antics.

im all for change but im not for rebuilding right now. i feel with reid n this team we have a chance when vick is done or if he get knocked out again this year im willing to move on from reid. i would like a defensive minded coach, but i feel right now at this very moment reid gives us the best chance to win a super bowl in the shortest amount of time.

I disagree with the idea that a new coach means rebuilding. What happened to Tampa was a rebuilding project. Bruce Allen and Jon Gruden made that team void of young talent. Raheem Morris had to build that team from scraps and unfortunately for him his young quarterback regressed. Anyone who would come into Philly still has a young Nucleus and they still have Mike Vick. I don't see a rebuilding situation in Philly at all, because they don't have a bad or old team.

I can't see the stadium getting emptied (meaning people will still buy their season tickets), but I could see a lack of interest in spending money at the games and if they begin to lose I could see people deciding not to go to some games.

I can tell you this for the first time Im not excited about them. i dont respect the way they played and their effort. Its one thing to lack talent and play hard and fail. Its another to quit. It left a bad dishonored taste in my mouth. They disrespected the fans and themselves. Thats a sin in any sport. You expect bad efforts from children in recreational leagues not pro sports. Its areal turnoff. even my 12 yo lost respect for the organization.

Just like New England, Philly needs more tough character Guys, like the Giants do, and what the Patriots had up until 2007. I would love for NWE to sign say, Brandon Jacobs, and make that tough dude a captain. Eagles have a lot of pieces in place already. They simply need some "knock you in the mouth" guys. Dealing with the same situation up here in Boston after that game.
