INSTEAD OF DONOVAN McNABB....
WHY not A.J. Feeley?
He's familiar with the Reid brand of West Coast offense, and there would be no hint of QB controversy. In two stints here he's been effective, and he wouldn't be overly expensive.
Bringing back Donovan McNabb would just invite the local media to try to stir up some stuff. Worse still, if Vick should be injured for a couple games and McNabb played well...
No thank you.
I like Don and all, but the page has been turned. I'd root for him if they signed him, but I think a quick Feeley signing would stop this team from even exploring the McNabb idea.

I like it. Then when Vick goes down and AJ plays well for 2-3 games, we can trade him for a 3rd rd pick (2nd would be too much this time!). "Like we always do about this time."
Ask the Cardinals, Redskins and the Dolphins how Andy's a$$ tastes. -
Agreed. If D-mac wants to save face around here, he might consider comming back in a few years as a QB coach. If Reid is still around that is, and wants him to.
-
i already said feeley he knows the system n is a decent qb for us. what do we have to lose anyway?
-
I like the idea. I'd rather see an eventual replacemant for Vick but that would mean giving up a high draft pick (either in a trade or pick itself) and Reid may not be willing to go that route right now. If he did that it may mean Kafka would possibly have to step in as backup and that probably would not be enough when looking at Vick's injury history.
-
So the reason we don't want McNabb back is because he might play too well if Vick goes down?????
-
yea pretty dumb reason to not want someone who might win too much but i understand what he means by it cause everyone knows it would cause a qb problem
-
Regardless of what we want or don't want, I don't think Mcnabb would ever come back as a backup anywhere, esp not here. He's made plenty of money he doesnt need to be a backup.
-
It could be a win-win for him. With Vick as the starter, McNabb knows he will get time to play. If he plays the good soldier, comes in and wins some games, he might find another team out there willing to give him another shot. There will be starting opportunities to be had. He just has to play the game and to work on cleaning up his image. Going to Philly and playing well could do that for him.
-
This would not cause a QB problem unless Mike Vick plays bad. Something is missing from Vick right now. Perhaps it's real competition. If McNabb is the better player then he beats him. I don't agree with Hollywood's two QB system talk, but there should be competition at every position on the team.

I don't know about WE, but it's definitely ONE OF the reasons I don't want him here.
The local media tried to make a s***storm out of DeSean Jackson sitting by himself this season.
Sitting.
It takes NOTHING around here to get arsonists, antagonists, and conspiracy theorists trying to start fires that detract from the underlying truth that this has been, and still is, a pretty good football team.
I can't speak for WE, but I would rather that we keep moving forward. -
what adding LT as a back up. idk how much he would ask for but he is the type of back we always wanted bwest to be n could help alot in mentoring shady n i think he is ok with that role now and he can still contribute when needed. im fine with using him only when shady needs a break n he has to be better than brown was for us. i think if he comes cheap why not?
-
what about adding*
-
I would like that, get rid of Ronnie Brown and sign LT. He fits our needs better and RB wasnt the big back he was supposed to be.
-
I don't see him wanting to come here. You see how Ronnie Brown got all of 42 touches this year. I can't see LT wanting to go out as THAT guy.
-
The Eagles don't need another running back. They need to keep (AND USE) the guys they have and upgrade the defensive personnel and coaches. McCoy should be getting 25-30 touches a game now. The Eagles should be running the ball 40-50% of the time now due to the fact the receivers hands are suspect and the quarterback is killing them with turnovers.
