With “The History of the Eagles” documentary it was a poorly kept secret that the band would be going out this summer – and it’s finally confirmed, with the first dates being set for July, with more to come through the summer and possibly into the fall.
The dates start in Louisville, Kentucky and hit Canada and the East Coast. The band promises the usual hits and solo songs, but they’ve dropped less-than-subtle hints that it won’t be business as usual this time around. The fact that the tour is actually called “The History of the Eagles” implies that they’ll dig more deeply into the catalog. They’ve also hinted that they’d like to include former members of the band, and recently Don Henley revealed in an interview that Bernie Leadon – the guitar architect of songs like “Already Gone” and “Witchy Woman” – is the only person they’d consider bringing back into the fold (so Don Felder and Randy Meisner won’t be making the trip). Sources say those negotiations are going quite well, so watch for a tour unlike any other in the band’s history.
Here are the tour dates:
July 6: Louisville, Ky. - KFC Yum! Center
July 7: Milwaukee, Wiss. - Summerfest
July 9: Cleveland, Ohio - Quicken Loans Arena
July 11: Toronto - Air Canada Centre
July 15: Ottawa - Scotiabank Place
July 16: Philadelphia - Wells Fargo Center
July 22: Washington, D.C. - Verizon Center
July 23: Pittsburgh - Consol Energy Center
July 25: Bethel, NY - BEthel Woods Center
