That conference sounded like he was about to do a whole coaching change, and personal change... and then pulled the carpet right out from under us.

No R36. Lurie doesn't get it. That sabbatical I promised. It starts today. I will not support an organization that refuses to see the error of their ways and own up to their screw ups.

I'm also glad that Andy is back. It wouldn't make any sense to get rid of him. I can understand the fan base being frustrated because we haven't won anything since he's been here. But this team is the product of Reid. Getting rid of Reid wouldn't do anything. You would have to get rid of the entire team.

I'm torn. Half of me wants Reid because he has been so successful. The other half of me is scared of change. The first half of me also knows about pass, pass, pass, bad timeouts, and clock managment. The second half remains very hopefull.

I agree with your outlook Route_36. He can be extremely frustrating at times but you don't win as many games as Reid has and get to a Super Bowl unless you are a good coach.

I have been one of the main people on this site calling for Andy's head as of this year. Actually I thought they should have gotten rid of him some time ago, but after they got rid of McNabb I figured he deserved another year or two. This was year two... With that being the case I am going to allow myself to give him a chance this upcoming season. It's not feasible for the Eagles to dump Reid right now, but next year might be easier. I think there were some clear messages in that conference. The first seemed as if Lurie was willing to give Ried the benefit of the doubt for this year, but he also sort of put Reid on notice. Another bad start would not be tolerated. The second was that Lurie was not impressed with the job of Juan often pointing him out and blaming him (scape goating him) for man of the problems. True he said it was Reid's decision on the coaching staff, but Reid would have to be a nut to bring back Juan when they guy who is paying him so much money wants him gone. If Reid is as confident in himself as he pretends to have in these terrible post game press conferences, then he had better hire Spagnolo now.

Yeah a giants fan at my work gave me another outlook on the conference. He said something along the lines of.... Reid's his guy. He's had so much success that he couldn't let him walk because we had 1 bad year. But on the other hand, Lurie showed Philadelphia how he was upset, and put ALL of the important decisions this off-season on Andy. With that, if Andy fails, or makes decisions based upon prefrence (Jaun mostly) than Reid will be let go, with only 1 year left on his contract, and at the same time we could cut Vick (if needed) and not take a hit on the salary cap. So we could start fresh with a new coach and QB.

True. Hiring Spags is probably the first step he can take in fixing this mess. We need a real DC in here in the worst way. He was wrong. Now he needs to swallow the truth, grin and bear it.

I will believe Lurie that Reid is not the arrogant and smug person he comes off as in his press conferences if he is willing to swallow his pride here and walk away from Juan.

Reid must have a guardian angel sitting on his shoulder. He got spared on Black Monday. How many bullets has this guy dodged?
