Reid and the FO are trying to spin this season as rebuilding. DO NOT BUY IT
This team's FO could've had great careers as politicians. You have to admit, they're pretty talented liars and go back on their word just as often as these greasy politicians in Washington.
"All in," These were THEIR words. Jeffrey Lurie, Joe Banner, and Andy Reid. Now that they have once again failed miserably, they're gonna try to spin this as rebuilding and use every cop-out in the book. For example, the shortened off-season didn't allow the team to jell, no OTAs, a bunch of new faces, youth and inexperience. BALONEY! I've got some sage advice for my fellow Eagles fans. DON'T BELIEVE A WORD OF IT.
You delude yourself Reid.
You can't honestly believe fans are gonna buy the team was hot and put it together at the end of the season, can you?
We were watching when a pathetic Seattle team wiped you all over the Pacific Northwest and sent you home with your tail between your legs at 4-8. REMEMBER?
We we're watching when you punished the team by benching DJax in a must win game, in which you blew one of so many 4th quarter leads to the s**tbag Cardinals and John "Freakin" Skeleton. REMEMBER?
Now, you're going to sell us a meaningless run that results in you and Juan coming back for an encore?
Get that S**T OUTTA HERE!
If the Front Office lets Andy come back the fans will be peeved. However, if he AND Juan Castillo come back, and good defensive minds (like Spags) are ignored for this team next year?
It'll be time to not only throw Lurie under the damn bus, but to back up over him too. I haven't watched a single game since that cluster against Arizona and have vowed not to spend a cent on any Eagles merchandise or tickets.
If this organization doesn't see the error of their ways, Birds fans everywhere should follow suit. Give the FO something to think about. Stop rewarding bad behavior by supporting a losing franchise.
-
I keep hearing and reading about the Spags returning to Philly as Juan's replacement (Reid's savior), but I wonder why he would do this? If I were Spags the Eagles would have to allow me to pick my staff and the players I want. You wouldn't force me to play with these line backers or these safeties. I would want the freedom to draft players to improve this defense. I don't know if Andy would be willing to give up the power, but he would be smart to do so.
-
I think they're going to force Reid to give up his power. Give Spags the same leeway afforded to his mentor. Also, if I'm the Eagles, I'm using the 13th pick on Luke Kuechly, the Butkus award winner. For those who don't know, that's the best linebacker in the nation.
-
Seen Kuechly's name thrown around quite a bit lately. We can only hope GG.
-
The Butkus award has usually been a pretty good barometer for NFL success. The guys who have won this are a who's who of bonafide studs. Clay Matthews, DeMarcus Ware, Patrick Willis, and Von Miller (likely Defensive ROY) have all taken home this award in either the collegiate ranks or the pros. Willis won it both at Ole Miss and in the pros.
-
I have seen his name connected to the Eagles in several mock drafts so far. Things change once the combine passes by though.
-
I think Kuechly's physical tests at the combine will definitely back up all the accolades he will be coming out of BC with. From what I've read about him, he's not just a great physical, sure tacker, he's got great instincts. I've always believed that the NFL's true elite players aren't just athletically gifted, they're smart. Kuechly has not only all the physical tools, but the intelligence and the instincts to be able to lead a defense at the NFL level.
This guy is exactly what the Eagles need for not only this defense, but the entire team as a whole. -
Well if the guys tests off the charts, then he might climb
up the board. Knowing the Eagles they never draft in the
slot they are selecting in. It's also more likely they
would draft a linemen of some sort. I hope they go for
the linebacker this year though. -
They have somewhat changed their tune about the running game so who knows. If he's back all we can do is hope they do the right things. No matter who is there all we can do is hope. A change doesn't always mean things get done that differently. I get that 13 years is a long time and many are ready for any change and there is part of me that agrees but it seems like we will be waiting at least one more year.
-
I would prefer not to wait another year,
but that's not my call. Lurie needs to see
that Andy is not going to change so he needs to
make a change if he truly wants to win a bowl. -
always an insider
-
Not my report Wood. This stuff came out of San Diego.
-
Id like to msee eagles pull in a coordinator from a team not associated with this regime. In any way!
-
That's crazy. Spagnolo was the reason the Giants won the Super Bowl.
-
And a fraud also.
-
Great blog, everything you said is right on!!eazy and ganggreen---eagles organization is a bunch of ducks---over a million fans---no super bowl---unacceptable--who wears a greenbay packer ship ring ---eagles did go to superbowl---wear nfc ship ring on your finger andy reid!!!!loyalty or head scratcher--holla back people on that one.
-
Don't confuse your Eagles season tickets with your street walking son.
-
We're tired and we want a Super Bowl. Now not later.
-
Spags will be coach in two years. reid is a complete flop at this point. He should man up and retire.
-
That is a serious possibility. I could see the Eagles not resigning Reid and giving the keys to someone. It would have a better chance of happening if Marty Mornhinweg was given another coaching job soon. The Eagles brass have hinted they would never hire a defensive guy as their coach ever again so it might be hard for Spags to get that job if they still feel that way and Marty is still in the building. Marty as the Eagles Head Coach!!! Man that would suck!!
-
This is PR dept whitewashing the real issues with a load of crap.
-
It's all speculations and rumors at this point hollywood and not every rumor starts in house.
-
They are trial balloons meant to test fan reaction. Im ready for Reid to go NOW. I see no point of putting Eagles fans through another boring season of fat ass. He wont win a superbowl and will humiliate Eagle fans even worse next year.
-
Yea. This one actually came from San Diego's media. The impending regime change out there may be what will cause this possible chain of events to unfold.
-
your way off there buddy. I'm myself, I just don't like how you pretend to be a philly fan, and troll on your dallas id. So when I see your fake Phillyfan09 ID, I'm going to call you out on it.
-
Phillyfan09 why so glum bud? Stockings too tight?
-
The afternoon guys on 94.1 brought up a good point about spags. Why would he take a demotion to come here, when he hasn't been fired yet? Grabted he owns a house here, and his wife grew up here but... He picked up that franchise a franchise QB (still to be determined) had lots of injuries, and had a rough schedule. The guys are thinking Spags gets 1 more year out there.
-
good job gang green. you are telling the truth. this is a lying sack of sh*t organization. they dont deserve a superbowl.
-
gang green---super blog---again people,no other organization, would put offensive line coach as defensive coor--NONE--SOMEONE,SHOULD BE SLAP--WITH BABY POWDER--LURIE,SHOULD HAVE STEP IN--AND SAID NO!!!!!REID TO MUCH POWER AND NO ONE TO ANSWER TO---EQUALS ---NO SUPER BOWL

I wonder if the "Peter Principle" means anything to Reid. An O-Line coach as your DC. 90% of coaches in the NFL would get axed for sure for pulling something that incredibly moronic.
-
Just read a report on ESPN. Looks like the Rams are indeed gonna fire Spags. With this new development, I wouldn't waste any time telling Juan to pack his s**t. We can only hope Lurie isn't as braindead as I think he is.
