Steve Spagnuolo needs to be hired soon!

Good thing you are terrified of him because I doubt too many OCs are. Spagnuolo is rumored to be on a short list in New Orleans. We all know that Reid doesn't like to rushed and does things at his own speed...which means it probably will be Castillo again. If the New Orleans rumor is true, where would you go if you were Spagnuolo?

New Orleans. They have Brees to take pressure off the defense just by staying on the field for long drives.

Same here. The Eagles may be stuck with Castillo again even if they want Spagnuolo. You heard Lurie...Castillo wasn't Reid's first choice last year.

If I'm Spags I go to New Orleans. There's been some talk with how well he'd mesh with Washburn's D-line philosophy. That basically says he won't get to hire his own staff.

It seems like Washburn was the reason the Eagles had a hard time replacing McDermott last season. Talk about ass-backwards.

The Wide Nine makes it too hard to effectively use your LB's in run defense. I never played against anything schematically like it, but when I saw the LB's back 3 and 4 yards of the line, if it was run play, it almost didn't matter what the DE's did. The Guards just trap the DT's in the gaps, and the Tackles (me) would just chip the DE on the way to the LB. It's the same play, you just use your situational awareness to adjust the block.

This is what I wouldn't stop shrieking about this last preseason and early season. The Eagles (Washburn) just kept making it too easy to run against us as he was sacrificing the Total defensive concept of an aspect of the defensive concept (i.e. pass rush.) We got a lot of throw away sacks as a result.

Meanwhile teams were KILLING us on the ground.

It's tough to go into every game with part of your defensive game plan as :outscore your opponent early and go after the quarterback. As we saw this past season, it doesn't always work out that way.

yea we need someone with common sense not someone that says 1st n 10 ok wide 9 please dont aduible to a run offense. it seemed castillo caught on later in the year but i would like to see spags. if u we r stuck with castillo though i thinnk it will be better thaan last year just because the team will have more chemistry to make up for his lack in coaching

do you think they were unaware of the pitfalls of that lousy scheme? they threw the season away telegraphing that defense for 5 weeks.

Im not sure how they plan to shuffle the deck but Spags future is to bright to let Reid smother him for 3 years. Wont happen spags will be with contender or will get another coaching opportunity. I thought he did an admirable job with that Ram train wreck.

Of course it is. They shove sh*t down the fans throats and they say give me more. Anyone that spends a dime on this team is a fool.

I hope Reid gets off vacation and gets this done. Another year with Juan and he might find himself out of a job by week 6. Another year of Vick turning the ball over so often might do the same thing too.

Not really. he is the fall guy but fans arent yelling loud enough and keep spending. So right about now if Im Lurie, Im laughing my ass off and saying , "guess what fellas we are gonna get more mileage out of Juan lets just wait and see". Big Joke

there is alot more drama to be played out and some here think its a superbowl run. i think its just the opposite. We will see the first test play out. D-jax is a good measuring stick.

All I know is Reid is blowing this thing. Spags is now interviewing for the job for the Saints. The Eagles are doing nothing, but sitting on their hands.
