THE BRYCE BROWN DILEMMA.

NOBODY is asking this question so I will.

When LeSean McCoy is healthy, what exactly will become of Bryce Brown? The question is valid regardless of whether or not Andy Reid stays, or Michael Vick stays, or anyone else stays. Or goes.

McCoy has earned a rep as one of the NFL's more dynamic weapons. He's become an every down back, and one of a dying breed of bell-cow RB's, in an age where most teams either do tandems or back-by-committee. McCoy has become "The Guy" who leads his team in carries week in and week out.

And let's not forget that McCoy is also being paid to be "The Guy".

While it's nice to have both guys, there IS only one ball. And this isn't like the thing where TWICE in 5 years folks here made having 3 top shelf CB's seem like a problem. Two top tier runners IS a problem. Especially if the locker room ever were to get divided over which one should be "The Guy" (See: Denver post-Terrell Davis, Lendale White vs. Chris Johnson, Marcus Allen vs. Bo Jackson, etc.)

And while it seems that maybe Brown could be a nice add-in to trigger a big trade, you have to consider the fall-off in talent between him and Dion Lewis. If we gave Brown up and McCoy has another concussion issue (and they tend to travel in packs), we may lament having dealt a guy we couldn't get on the field nearly enough.

Two first stringers, no second, and a third. I guess it's a better problem to have than Green Bay's or Arizona's situation of not even having a legit starter, but jeez, can't we get ONE thing to be cut and dry this year!?

  • The Eagles may need to ride the legs of two good backs while finding their quarterback and hopefully the new coach has enough sense to do just that.
  • Trade Mccoy for a first rounder. I don't like his attitude, he's a me guy. If the organization wants to send a message this is the way to do it. Firing assistants and second tier defensive linemen is a cop out. Now's the time to bring in high character guys that want to play as a team and leave it all on the field.
  • Bryce Brown is one of the most fun players I have ever seen in a Philly uniform!!!! When has McCoy ran for 70 yard TD's? W/ Bryce Brown I feel he can break one every time he gets his hands on the ball! He is strong, Fast, .. Has all the intangibles.

That said! I love how the Buffalo Bills have handled their RB situation. 2 drives goto Fred Jackson & then 2 drives goto CJ Spiller. (entire game) and it's worked out for them for the most part.

What is keeping me from (being ok w/ trading brown) area few things. 1. McCoy is a top back in this league & I don't want him on another team. 2. Brown is fumbling the ball. 3. McCOy has better hands. 4. 1st round picks can end up being bad picks! It better be one or two or three picks for Shady! 5. McCoy is an Eagle guy and has been a great person for the organization.
  • How can you love anything the Bills have done over the past 20 years?
  • Anybody else notice that yardbarker is starting to limit what we have to type again?

What sense is there to do this yardbarker? You'll pretty much let anyone type whatever they want (as long as they "hide" their cursewords by misspelling them) but limit them to how much they can do it...you have to be kidding me!

  • Amount of comments per article. If you try to leave a second comment before someone else types something on an article smart ass comments that yardbarker made up appear. They did this before within the last year but did away with it when we openly complained about it (not sure if anyone sent them messages telling them we didn't like it). Have no idea why they are doing it again. Freaking stupid idea that has no good reasoning behind it.
