The Eagles Fell Into The Trap.

Forget Joe Webb, because Cassell actually did beat us. Well you could really state our defense did. Williams got beat on double moves, Chung got beat, then benched, two guys went down to injury, Fletcher had his worst game as an Eagle, and Cassell had way too much time to throw the ball. I don't know if Chip wanted to preserve McCoy after last week, but he never attempted at any point to establish his run game. It seemed to me like the Eagles were not prepared for their first encounter under Kelly with the dreaded "trap game." Here's the good news. The Eagles still control their own destiny. The Eagles still can and will win out. The Eagles will host a home game, and hopefully in the future Kelly can learn from this game. Take no opponent lightly. Especially one that's fighting for their coach this late in the season. It's quite the contrast though isn't it? Our team at this point last season quit on their coach, because they knew he already quit on them, but the Vikings are still fighting for Frazier. I've noticed this, but he won't get another job when he's fired like Reid. Isn't strange how Reid quit on his team, but almost immediately got a job, but Lovie Smith wins 10 games, gets fired, and can't find one? That's the NFL bias at its worst.

5 Comments:
  • I saw earlier that with Boykin possibly missing Sunday Night's game Davis is thinking of using Chung in his place. Just the thought of that guy trying to cover anyone makes my blood run cold.
  • Must be a joke. Chung can't cover anybody.
  • Sadly no. It appears this isn't a joke. The Eagles already weak secondary is so thinned out by injury, they might have no choice. They have to address this in the draft. Corner and safety must be addressed. Also, if we can get Byrd at a reasonable price if hits the market, I'd pull the trigger on that one no questions asked.
  • Boykin should play and so should Wolfe. Chung has been a weekly screwup. I hope the Eagles finally realize they are going to have to stop playing with their safety position. Go pay the big bucks or draft a high level talent.
