Who Do We Play This Week?

The question must be asked again considering how bad the Eagles QB situation is right now. Not about the team we are playing, (we know they are playing the sorry sack Raiders) but who will be under center for us. Matt Barkley mentioned that he did not receive very many snaps this week, and that means he wasn't prepared to be thrust into the game like he was and it showed. For two weeks straight Barkley has shown flashes of starting QB material only to have those quickly dashed by a poor decision with the football. Maybe with a full week of practice Barkley can learn to cut down on his turnovers, and make better strides. With that being the case it seems his receivers had better step up. They have been running poor routes, giving up on some and at times going through the motions, but not really participating. Though they may not be the primary on a play they still should run the play out fully. Celek and Jackson are two of the main culprits of doing this. Someone needs to get into their ears and get them to step up their games. On the offensive line Johnson, Kelce, and Herremans have been playing very poorly as of late. Johnson can be excusable considering he's a rookie, but the other two have to step up their games. Todd is making too much money to play as bad as he has. Kelce has had far too many bumbled snaps this season as well. These players are going to need to step up and help the young rookie have a chance in his semi-homecoming debut. Congrats to Andy Reid for beating Joe Banner. One again Andy has chown he's really good at coaching other people's talent. Keep up the great work Andy. You're making believers out of some former Giants and Raiders fans I know. They can't stop themselves from lording all over you like obsessed groupies at a nightclub.

  • As previously mentioned on another thread, it's clear Foles is the guy heading into next week (assuming he is cleared). Vick's injury is going to set him back 4 weeks (again) so we might as well call him a back up here on out.

As for the others. I don't see any changes on the Offensive Line. It's pretty clear Celek is losing the favor of the coaching staff to both other TE's at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see Celek go at the end of the season.

BLAH.. Next week Eagles win: 24 to 20
  • The way the Vick injury situation was handled just seems poor on all ends. Vick must have been lying about how injured he really was, Kelly ignored all the issues, and it all came to head like against the giants as a complete failure. Nick Foles should finish the season as the starter, but unless Chip is willing to alter his offense to fit his quarterbacks then I don't see how it's possible he's the guy next season.
  • Vick was anxious to help this team. That was his mistake. He would have he;lped by getting healthy. Seasons over. lets see what Foles can do with ZERO pressure. Thats assuming he is ready. barkley will get is rear spanked in Oakland. At this point i dont really care about this owner or his crap he is putting out on the field. Enjoy Philly.
