Once Again, My Favorite Week
Once again, the week we cannot lose has rolled around and as it was last year, so it is that the bye week is my favorite this season. A whole Sunday without sprained ankles, torn pecs, or acid indigestion. A whole weekend of not seeing some other team trample the bodies and hopes of the Hawks. Pure Heaven.
Oh sure, there won`t be any Hasselbeck passes to enjoy, or Curry sacks. I won`t be seeing John Carlson haul one down over his shoulder in the end zone, or Housh break one open in mid-field for a thrilling run to daylight. With regrets I can forego those pleasures, for I won`t be seeing my guys in axle grease blue lying on the field long after everyone else has walked away from the play.
But the bye week isn`t an automatic assurance of player safety either. I wondered then, if Cowboys fans ever thought it, that if Jessica ever rolled over in her sleep, that she could smother Romo? I do wonder now if Matt, might trip over a garden hose and break a leg, or if Housh might slide on the floor of a Seattle coffee den and sprain a knee? Please Aaron, don`t go anywhere near the Space Needle. Please?
Dang, there `are` things to worry about during the bye week. Will cellular regeneration continue for Hill and Trufant? Will Locklear be ready in just a few days time? So many things to think about, so many things that could go horribly wrong. I HATE this friggin` week of not knowing anything new, and not even getting a blasted football game to soothe my jangled nerves.
