I have a question ??? what is broke???

when I read this????  Reports say J.R. Smith is broke 

  according to a report? NY knick J.R. smith is broke??? 

 I read where he has a one year deal for next year for "2.5 million"

 but could opt out and make more with NY or somewhere else... 

   unless my figures??? are screwed up???? 

 MY GOD Id love to make 2.5 mill????  

   now maybe the story ment to leave out the many cars he owns??
