Toronto Raptors = Diverse City

The Toronto Raptors have proposed a five-year deal for 53 million to Hedo Turkoglu. The Orlando Magic are no doubt going to miss having such a big offensive threat on their roster. However, they have brought much to their offense with the addition of Vince Carter. Turkoglu was almost certain to end up in Portland with the young and exciting bunch lead by coach of the year Nate McMillan. So, what happened? International flavor happened.
Globalization has been very evident in our world as we know it today. No other team is more aware of this truth than the Raptors. Although they have not been very successful in the NBA as far as winning, they have found much success in diversifying the league. Their starting point guard is Jose Calderon from Spain. They also have an Italian center Andrew Bargnani and Croatian guard Roko Ukic. On top of that they have Chris Bosh who looks like the great Bob Marley and he seems to be just as peaceful as good ole' Bob was.
Hedo Turkoglu was a perfect fit for them. Not only is he Turkish, but he is freakin' good at basketball. Averaging nearly 17 points per game, he was the Magic's go to guy when they needed to close out a game. I am sure he will get along great with his new teammates and he will surely give the Raptors a boost offensively. Who knows, maybe he will lead them to a possible 7 or 8 seed in the playoffs. I am excited about the opportunity they have to win more games with Hedo and look forward to seeing how all of these exciting trades, signings, and draft picks turn out.
