Brandon Jennings: bad for basketball

The best rookie out of the gate in the NBA has been Brandon Jennings. After nearly getting a triple double in his profession-- er US debut, Brandon lit up the Pistons for 21 second-half points to lead the Bucks to victory. He could be a great player no doubt, and the elite freshmen and sophomore high-schoolers, and their corruptive support groups are keeping close watch.

Following Brandon Jennings lead, dozens of top recruits will opt out of the NCAA, and cash in a quick buck or two in FIBA leagues. US basketball does not afford these gifted athletes the ability to truly maximize their their financial potential. By Jennings going to Italy in 2008, he took the best financial opportunity available at the time, and maintained the type of skills and potential NBA recruiters salivate over.

What really intrigues me is how much further some kids are going to push this. Will the next Lebron James opt out of highschool and AAU and turn Euro-Pro at 15?

If Brandon Jennings succeeds in his rookie year, what do you think will result? I say he's the new KG.
