Rookie Sowers to be Shut Down

The Cleveland Indians have decided to shut Sowers down somewhere between 180 and 190 innings this season. He's currently at 168 innings this season between Triple-A Buffalo and the big leagues. That leaves Sowers about two or three more starts before he's shut down, possibly less. The Indians are playing it safe and smart. They will not make the playoffs this year and therefore have no reason whatsoever to risk this valuable left-arm. This move could payoff next year and for years to come. Sowers has been quite useful to fantasy owners in the last month. He has won three starts in a row and is undefeated in his last seven.
