Taste Lamar and Khloe's Wedding Appetizers
Read up on what was served -- and learn how to make one of the delectable treats yourself.
Nikki Shaw: Anyone who knows me knows that I'm constantly in search of great food, fun, and adventure! And Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's wedding was an exciting combination of all three. Of course, the food is always my favorite part of the evening. But before I tease your taste buds with all of the incredible edibles, let me set the mood. We pulled up to a valet at the secret location, which was a mansion in Beverly Hills. There were paparazzi snapping photos and a constant buzz from a helicopter circling above. A string ensemble played classical music as the wedding party took their places. The ceremony was held outside on a large terrace while the guests watched from lawn seats below. Lavender was the color of the evening, and there was an abundance of beautiful white roses throughout the yard.
After the ceremony but before the reception, the party began with delicious drinks and appetizers served on the adjoining lawn. The music changed to smooth R&B as the sun began to set. There were two stunning signature drinks served: chilled champagne with floating Gardenia petals (absolutely elegant) and pomegranate martinis with floating Nerds (tiny hard candies). The catering staff passed several trays of appetizers, including jumbo shrimp cocktail and lamb chops.
My favorite appetizer was the Wagyu Slider! "Wagyu" is a very high-end beef from Japan. It is known for its great flavor, juiciness, and tenderness. "Sliders" are bite-size miniature burgers. Try my "Slam-Dunk Sliders" recipe -- your family will love them! And stay tuned for part 2: "The Fabulous Feast."
