Buffalo Sabres are they going to make the playoffs?

Why after last year are the Buffalo Sabres fighting to even get into 8th in the playoffs. I mean ya they lost 2 really good players but they have so many other players. In order to be a really good team now a days you have to have a good team and they do wat are they missing?
