Northeast Division Preview: Ottawa Senators

The Northeast division is going through a changing of the guard of sorts. No longer are Ottawa, Buffalo and Toronto fighting at the top with Montreal and Boston as the bottom feeders. If anything, the favourites going into this season are the two latter teams. The Montreal Canadiens are coming off a season where they surprised everybody by finishing 1st in the Eastern Conference, while the Bruins surprised everybody by making the playoffs without their star playmaker Patrice Bergeron for most of the season. The Northeast division has always had strong teams, but has never had all five teams strong at the same time. That is a trend that will continue this season.
