Will Indiana Be The Worst Team From A BCS Confrence

Indiana has had a great basketball tradition, in fact, the Hoosiers are the last NCAA team to go undefeated for an entire season, including the NCAA tournament. Man, have times changed. After the embarrassing Kelvin Sampson scandal the Hoosiers only return one player off of last year's team and lost over 97% of their scoring including senior D.J. White and Big 10 Freshman of the year Eric Gordon. Then, to pour salt in the wound, top recruit Devin Ebanks left to go play for West Virginia. So could it be that Indiana, which has had such a proud program, could stumble to being the worst out of all major conference teams? Kyle Taber (Left <<, 1.3 ppg.) is the only returning player, so the case is strong, but Oregon St. is definitely in the conversation. The Other Contenders: Oregon State - The Beavers were horrible last year, maybe the worst team in the Pac-10 ever, going 6-24 (0-18), losing to D-2 Alaska Anchorage, Montana St. and Tennessee Tech (by 17), not to mention the fact that they finished the season on a 20, I repeat, 20 game losing streak. Arkansas - Losing Patrick Beverly to Europe leaves the Razorbacks with Stefan Welsh (5.2) as their leading returning scorer. Colorado - Losing the three best players (Richard Roby, Marcus Hall and Xavier Silas) from a 12-20 team is not a recipe for success in the Big 12. Colorado struggled mightily on offense, not scoring over 70 points until over a month into the season against Colorado St. The one bright spot of the season was the Buffaloes upset win over Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament, 91-84. St. John's - Another once proud program stumbled to an 11-19 finish, 5-13 in the Big East and with Rutgers, Cincinnati and South Florida all making improvements the Red Storm should finish in the basement again.
