Bay Area can no longer FOCUS on high school sports

Just wanted everyone to know that High School Sports Focus, a local weekley program showcasing prep talent for the past 16 years has been cancelled. In its 16 years the show has portrayed the positive side of high school athletics in a manner that was obviously recognized, earning 5 Emmy Awards. This was the one program that looked at the positive attributes of the high school students, especially the athletes. You all know that the biggest stories concerning high school kids focus on the negatives. This outlet gave us a look at the kids, the athletes, the coaches, and most importantly the fun that is high school athletics. The Bay Area will miss THE FOCUS, and does not understand why it is no more! For as much as the regional FOX stations give us, the local sensation that was THE FOCUS will/can never be felt by a nationally owned station. There are times when less is more. This is the prime example. The only ones who understand the local issues or the local student athletes are those who are local. This is a sad day....THANK YOU SPORTS FOCUS.
