Chelsea took on Malmo last night at won 4-0 – but they lost two first team players, to rather put the result in perspective.

Thomas Tuchel admitted after the game that both would likely be out for a few games, but the good news is that it probably won’t be worse than that.

Today, Nizaar Kinsella of Goal.com reported that the striker had “avoided serious injury,” a true relief.

That’s a big result for us, given how badly inverted his ankle looked as the Malmo tackle flew in on him.

There are plenty of good players in the squad to replace him, but no natural out and out strikers. Still, we had great success with Kai Havertz up top last season, and the German has been needing a chance to show what he can do.

Let’s hope he can get firing, and his teammates can get back alongside him as soon as possible. We can’t afford to be missing anyone in this busy period.
