PLAYERS: Michelle Wie

In what appears to be becoming a common trend, Michelle Wie has once again set herself up for complete and utter failure. This time, I can't wait to see it happen so I can once again say "told you so" to no one in particular. Wie has accepted a sponsors exemption to partake in the John Deere classic for the third time.

  • When Wie hit the main stage, she was young, and she was better than most adults at the game. Nike found her to be very marketable despite how well she plays, kind of like an Anna Kournikova. There's no other way to get better besides getting in there and dealing with the pressure first hand, perhaps she's nothing now, but being good enough to be the youngest to turn pro, being accepted to Stanford, and raking in millions before the age of 18, I think she's accomplished a good amount. She might not be good at golf, but the reason she gets so much negative media is the fact that Nike took a gamble on her when there were other bitter golfers out there that had better talent.
