PLAYERS: Charl Schwartzel

Professional golfers rarely require 4 putts on any green. If they usually do it’s extremely rare and comes at a difficult course like at a major and usually has the first putt being some sort of bomb lag at least 50+ feet away. Not today for Charl Schwartzel as he pulled of something I didn’t think was even possible. After hitting a nice approach into the 18th hole to 4 feet for a birdie opportunity he walked away with a double bogey as each putt taken caused him to keep getting further away from the hole on his misses. Check out what happened:

It’s quite obvious he was extremely frustrated on both the birdie and par putt which resulted in him taking the bogey putt with the putter the wrong way and bashing it without taking the time to line it up properly. I doubt this would have happened if he straight up missed the putt on a straight up misread. Truth be told they were correct he just bashed the putts so hard they lipped out which caused the ball to go further back then where he started from. Also, his round was going awful heading into the 18th; after putting himself into contention on Saturday he was +5 on the round pretty much taking him out of the tournament so he didn’t care quite as much.

What shocked me most about all this is the fact that he lost his composure that easily. It’s something you rarely see on the course as these players are so regimented in their approach to the game that they cannot allow themselves to break down mentally like this. Usually this type of episode would be reserved for a John Daly meltdown. Not a major champion and top 20 ranked player in the world like Schwartzel. Furthermore, I have never once got the impression that he would act this way. He also appears to be calm relaxed and in control of his emotions. Can’t really hold it against him, the guy has high expectations and obviously took light of the situation with a bit of sarcasm not giving a **** about the bogey putt after the first two lipped out.

That has to be considered one the most bizarre putting performances in recent memory.

Schwartzel needs four putts to sink three-footer

Pro golfer Charl Schwartzel finished Sunday's third round of the Deutsche Bank Championship tournament on a terrible note with a four-putt on the 18th green, and all of the putts came from within three feet of the hole. Schwartzel was in position to make a birdie with the first putt on the 18th, but ended up with a double bogey. The four-putt served as a fitting end to a...

Charl Schwartzel Strangely Misses Three Putts From Just a Few Feet Away on 18th Green at TPC Boston (Video)

Everyone wants to end their round of golf on a good note. Charl Schwartzel probably would've settled for not looking foolish Sunday. Unfortunately for Schwartzel, he was unable to avoid an embarrassing finish to the day, as he missed three putts from just three feet away to close out his third round at the Deutsche Bank Championship in Norton, Mass. Charl Schwartzel Needs 4 Strokes From 3 Feet

Charl Schwartzel had a rough day at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Sunday, specifically when it came to the final hole. Just enjoy the video below which every golfer can relate to at some point in their lives. via Devil Ball Golf Article found on: Cosby Sweaters

Charl Schwartzel Putts Like One of Us

Former British Open champ Charl Schwartzel didn't have a great day at the course today. In fact it was downright dreadful. This sequence of putts was the highlight, or should I say lowlight, of Schwartzel's round. Schwartzel had a birdie putt from three feet away when it rimmed out of the cup. His next shot pretty much did the same thing and his third putt he completely...

Schwartzel not sure if he'll go to Indianapolis

Charl Schwartzel of South Africa birdied the last two holes to narrowly get inside the top 70 in the FedEx Cup and advance to the third playoff event next week at Crooked Stick. The question now is whether he will show up. Schwartzel has been coping with a rib injury since the U.S. Open, and it has flared up again. Schwartzel told one media outlet he was ''doubtful'...

Charl Schwartzel 4 Putts From 3 Feet Away

I feel bad for Charl Schwartzel…on only two of these putts.  He should be embarrassed about the backhanded attempt. Schwartzel was wrapping up his 3rd round on Sunday at the Deutsche Bank at the TPC Boston when he made it to the 18th green for a 3 foot birdie putt.  The first attempt lipped out and spun directly back to Schwartzel.  Sucks, but it happens.  The second attempt...

Yes kids, PGA pro Charl Schwartzel did make a four-putt at the Deutsche Bank Championship

Painful. Witnessing a four-putt on the PGA tour is about as rare an event as seeing a double-eagle, but they do happen.  Just ask 2011 Masters champion Charl Schwartzel, who took four putts from three feet away during third round action at the Deutsche Bank Championship this past Saturday. Needless to say his double-bogey on No.18—which left him at 8-over 79 for the day—effectively...
