Remember when EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour video game could get by with having just Tiger on the cover.  Yeah, that’s so 2010 it’s not funny.  Last year Woods shared the cover with Rory McIlroy, and this year’s version didn’t even feature a golfer, just a shot of iconic Augusta National in conjunction with the franchise’s Masters edition.

And this year will be no different, as EA Sports has set up an online fan vote via Facebook to determine who shares the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 with Eldrick.

From the Golf Channel…

Based upon performance and popularity, 16 players were selected to face off in a tournament-style voting competition for the cover. The players are grouped by continent – United States and Europe – in anticipation of the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah. The winner of the American bracket will appear on copies of the game distributed in the U.S., while the European winner will share the cover for copies available on their continent.

The American list of players includes Ben Crane, Rickie Fowler, Jim Furyk, Dustin Johnson, Zach Johnson, Hunter Mahan, Rocco Mediate and Bubba Watson, while the European contingent is represented by Paul Casey, Luke Donald, Ross Fisher, Graeme McDowell, Rory McIlroy, Edoardo Molinari, Ian Poulter and Justin Rose.

No John Daly?  I call bullsh-t.  Sure he’s not relevant in golf, except in a sideshow kind of way, but nobody represents America and the American way better than the hard partying, chain smoking Daly.  Guaranteed Long John would win hands down for the Yanks, and may even pull off the huge upset on the European side.

As for Woods, pretty sure that in two years, tops, he won’t even make the cover of his own golf game.
