Sergio Garcia might want to change his name to Tarzan. Garcia provided an amazing highlight Sunday at the Arnold Palmer Invitational when he climbed some 15 feet into an oak tree and played a shot back out to the fairway. The Spaniard already was having a rough time at Bay Hill - he made a 9 on the par-5 sixth hole - when his tee shot at No. 10 sailed right into the trees. Not only did it get stuck in the tree, it came to rest at the base of two large limbs. Garcia looked up in the tree, stood on a cart and leapt to pull himself up into the tree. He was playing with William McGirt, who was having a hard time believing what he was seeing. ''I knew they were looking around the tree,'' McGirt said. ''I didn't know they were looking in the tree. I looked over and Sergio is up in the air, and I'm trying to figure out what in the hell he's going to do. He called for a club. He's hugging the tree. And the ball comes flying out. ''Are you kidding me?'' The small crowd cheered when Garcia's caddie handed him a club. Maybe it was a tree-iron. Garcia was so high up in the tree that he had to stoop to grab the head of the club as his caddie reached high holding the end of the club. Garcia studied his options before playing a one-handed, back-handed shot out to the fairway. More stunning was that he jumped from about 8 feet up in the tree to get down, a landing that would have made a gymnast proud. Garcia showed little emotion other than to wipe off his hands and prepare to play the next shot. ''It was just unbelievable,'' McGirt said, who stood in the fairway with arms crossed watching all this unfold. Sadly for Garcia, he chunked his next shot and wound up with a double bogey. Two holes later, the horn sounded to suspend play because of a violent thunderstorm that canceled play for the rest of the round. Garcia already was 5-over par for his round, and 3 over for the tournament. McGirt said when they climbed into a van to be taken back to the clubhouse, Garcia handed him the scorecard and said, ''I'm out of here.'' He officially withdrew. Garcia had said earlier in the week that he was low on energy and enthusiasm and ''I just want to go home.'' He plans to return at the Masters.

Tiger, Arnold Palmer star in fantastic commercial

I watched this commercial prior to having any cups of coffee, so please excuse me as it hasn’t fully processed yet. I do believe I just watched Arnold Palmer and Tiger Woods starring in a commercial for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14 fighting a bunch of folks and Lee Trevino showing up in time for a groin finisher. If the Internet doesn’t break in some form or another over this I...

Sergio Garcia hits a shot from up in a tree

This is easily the most bizarre thing that I have ever seen in a golf tournament.  At #10 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Sergio Garcia hit his drive and his ball got stuck in a tree.  Rather than take a penalty for an unplayable ball, Garcia climbed up into the tree to try and hit a shot. When he got up there, he actually hit an incredible shot.  To turn your club backwards...

Sergio Garcia Attempts One-Handed Backwards Golf Shot From a Tree (Video)

This is probably the most athleticism you’ll see out of a golfer. During the Arnold Palmer Invitational, Sergio Garcia found himself in awkward situation when his ball somehow ended up nicely positioned in a tree according to a story courtesy of USA Today Sports. Garcia, proceeded to carefully climb the tree and then took a few minutes to position himself perfectly to make a very...

Garcia truly plays it where it lies

Sergio Garcia might want to change his name to Tarzan. Sergio Garcia climbs tree to hit crazy shot, withdraws from round (Video)

Sergio Garcia made one of the wildest golf shots we have seen, and it took place during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational Sunday. Garcia’s tee shot on the 10th hole ended up in a tree, so he climbed the tree to locate the ball which was stuck between branches. He grabbed hold of a branch to his left and backhanded a shot that knocked the ball back onto the fairway...

Sergio Garcia plays a ball out of a tree!

Yep, it’s certain. I’ve seen it all. This morning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Sergio Garcia landed his ball in a tree, AND PLAYED IT WHERE IT LIED!!! Move over Mickelson, this is flying to the top of the list of amazing oddball golf shots. Good play, Sergio!   He needs a tree iron.   The post Sergio Garcia plays a ball out of a tree! appeared first on The Sports Gag.

Sergio Garcia Hit A Ball Out Of A Tree…Backwards

This whole clip of Sergio Garcia hitting a ball out of a tree on the 10th hole during the final round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational is amazing, but long, so feel free to start watching at the 3:00 mark. Garcia hit his second shot on the par 4 into a tree where it lodged itself at the intersection of some branches about ten feet into the air. Instead of taking a one-stroke penalty...

Sergio Garcia climbs tree, hits ball with one-handed shot (Video)

In the annals of golf history, I don't think we've seen a shot like that one that PGA tour pro Sergio Garcia pulled off in the first round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational. After the first shot on the 10th hole, Sergio's ball got stuck in a tree near the fairway and instead of taking a penalty, Garcia decided to take his second shot backwards while straddling a couple...

Tiger Woods and Arnold Palmer kick butt in awesome new commercial

Woods and fellow legend Arnold Palmer team up for this EA Sports Tiger Woods PGA Tour '14 commercial, which is probably one of the greatest spots ever put together.

The ad wizards over at EA Sports have put together some classic commercials over the years but this latest one for "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14" might take the cake as one of the best.
