We’d nearly forgotten about Hunter Mahan until yesterday when he beat Rory McIlroy at the Accenture Matchplay and his wife (recently married), former Cowboys cheerleader, Kandi came running onto the green. Of course she’s one of our all-time favorites. One thing led to another and we were digging into what Mahan has been up to. Um, not much. Just selling his million-dollar mansion and replacing it with a 19,000 sq. ft. mega-mansion. Ho-hum. It was reported earlier this month by Dallas real estate gossip monger Candy Evans that the Mahans have purchased land that’ll eventually sprout one of the biggest houses in athlete house history. Evans says that Hunter really has a 19,000 sq. ft. home planned that’ll include and underground parking garage and an underground basketball court. Of course we’re efforting housing plans. Of course we’re trying to figure out how big this underground parking garage is. This is all mind-boggling to us. That’s 3x the house Hunter is holed up in right now. jQuery(function($){$("a img.gallery-wall-fade").hover(function(){$(this).stop().animate({opacity:.5},{queue:false,duration:400});},function(){$(this).stop().animate({opacity:1},{queue:false,duration:400});});}); In the meantime, the new ‘it’ couple on the golf tour needs to dump Hunter’s old house. It’s a 6,800 sq. ft. home better suited for a bachelor or a starter home for a Texan just out of SMU. Highlights Of Hunter’s Old Bachelor Pad Dump: • 5 bed, 4 full bath, 2 partials • Theater room! • Game room! • Sweet office with high ceilings! • Sweet pool! • Sweet jacuzzi attached to sweet pool! • Half an acre of land to push mow • Lots of stone! Asking Price: $1,499,900 Mortgage: $8,800 before taxes and air conditioning costs per month [Buy Hunter Mahan's Texas House - Trulia]
