Unless you have been living under a rock or have somehow been able to perform the Herculean task of repressing any and all memories of overdone pop culture crazes that seem to pop up each and every month, you are no doubt familiar with the “Gangnam Style” fad that has captured the world by storm.
The song and accompanying video from South Korean rapper Psy has inspired a seemingly endless supply of parodies and tribute videos, including a litany of homages to the song courtesy of some of the biggest names from the sports world.
Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik — who nearly severed his finger in a boating accident earlier this year, putting his career in doubt — can now be added to that growing list, as he has created a “Gangnam Style” video of his very own. Joined by his wife and children, along with fellow pro golfers Dustin Johnson, Fredrik Jacobson and Richard S. Johnson, Parnevik’s entry into the pantheon of “Gangnam Style” parody videos certainly indicates the fad isn’t going away anytime soon.
Sporting a pink suit and sunglasses, Parnevik leads the charge as the crew lip-syncs and performs the signature dance in a variety of locales. Apparently, the video apparently was created as a gift for one of Parnevik’s friends, but in the end, we all win, so long as watching another “Gangnam Style” video is up your alley.
