Keegan Bradley burst onto the scene last year when he won the Byron Nelson and the PGA Championship, and his efforts were rewarded with a Rookie of the Year trophy. However, apparently Bradley has developed some bad habits over the offseason.
Bradley’s pre-shot routine drew a lot of attention this past weekend when Bradley lost in a playoff at the Northern Trust Open. He seemed almost obsessive compulsive in his antics. He’d spit multiple times and take short sweeping practice swings before every shot, false-starting on several occasions only to start his routine over again.
Apparently, people found the behavior rather unbecoming, particularly the spitting. Bradley apologized for his actions this week at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. The spitting is something that Bradley has apparently done as a nervous reflex for quite some time, but the rest of Bradley’s new pre-shot routine is new.
