Just when you thought the putter craze on the PGA Tour couldn't get more absurd, Matt Every managed to take things to a whole new level at the Sony Open.
After getting accustomed to watching Robert Garrigus roll with a toy-sized flat stick and a host of players go to the belly putter in the last year, Every threw the golf world a curveball when he showed up at the first full-field event of the season sporting a brick-shaped putter that looked like something out of a sci-fi movie.
The BlackHawk putter, as Golfweek's Alex Miceli noted, is only being marketed in North and South Florida PGA sections at the moment. But with Every rolling it well at the Sony, you have to think someone else might be desperate enough to try it in the future.
