Rory McIlroy's mixed season continued on Thursday with a disappointing 2 over par 74 on the first day of the BMW PGA Championship. McIlroy bogeyed five of his closing six holes in cold, overcast conditions at Wentworth to trail eight shots behind James Kingston, who had the clubhouse lead after a 6 under 66. The South African had a one-stroke lead over Finland's Mikko Ilonen. McIlroy, whose total included 33 putts, says ''I feel as though I am playing well enough but it is just not being reflected on my score card.'' The Northern Irishman, who played in the company of his Ryder Cup winning teammates Graeme McDowell and Paul Lawrie, was 3 under after 12 holes before carding three bogeys in succession from the 13th hole.
