Today Nike announced that they signed Rory McIlroy to their long list of sponsored athletes. Now they have the two most talked about golfers, Tiger Woods and Rory on their team. To show off their new acquisition Nike started to air their new golf ad called “No Cup Is Safe” with Rory and Tiger.
The video shows the two at a driving range trying at first to out hit the other one. There are a few jabs and quips between the two which then starts a “friendly” competition on who can out do the other guy. The ad shows each player hitting golf balls in cups, through windows, and even at a wedding. Here is the video below.
After watching the video I thought that this ad was very similar to the 90’s version of Michael Jordan and Larry Bird playing H-O-R-S-E for Jordan’s Big Mac. Here is that video.
