Jason Dufner wins PGA Championship
Jason Dufner won the 95th PGA Championship at Oak Hill on Sunday by first overtaking Jim Furyk, and then holding him off down the stretch. Dufner’s play was almost perfection for a major championship victory by sticking iron shots time and time again to give himself easy birdie opportunities throughout the day. The bogeys on the final two holes were almost an afterthought because he wasn’t being pressed that hard by anyone besides Furyk, who did the same on those holes. Furyk would have been a shoe-in for the World Golf Hall of Fame with a win because it would have put him at 17 wins overall with two majors, tying Curtis Strange’s golf record.
This championship kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time, but I was most intrigued by the way he handled himself on number 15.
